Rob's Blood Work

We got the results of Rob's blood tests back. Almost everything looks good. The doctor said he's healthy and it looks like the problems Rob had are not heart related. The only real problem that there was is his cholesterol. But even that has a bright side. Back when he got tested in October his cholesterol was around a 280 or a 290. He freaked out so I showed him how to eat (because of the steroids I'm on for my asthma and the fact that they effectively kill my metabolism I have to eat healthy and extremely small portions unless I want to gain weight uncontrollably) and he's been eating a bit healthier over the past few months. Apparently it's had a good effect on his cholesterol. It's still 239, which is high, but that's a significant decrease from the last time he had it tested.

He's also managed to already lose the five pounds that the doctor recommended. While I'm happy that it was easy for him, I also want to kick him in the nuts for it. I love him, but I hate people who can lose weight like that. Here I am, overweight and eating almost nothing in order to not be the kind of person who is so big they can't walk (I'm not near that level, but it's completely possible with the way my body is working while on my meds) and he can lose five pounds in a week. He cuts down a bit on food and does a few sit ups at night and loses weight. I do a few hours in the gym 3-5 times a week and eat like a rabbit and can still manage to put on weight. Grr. If his cholesterol wasn't high I'd be tempted to shove Twinkies down his throat in his sleep. Mwuhahaha.

Okay, on to other things. This week has been fairly uneventful. I'm just sludging through life and working on the job hunt. These places really need to call me in for an interview. I have another lead that I'm following. Mr. Lugosi sent me the name of someone he knows who works at a firm in Santa Monica, so I'm putting in a resume there. I don't know if anything will come of it, but anything is worth a shot. Next week I'm going to sign up with that Law Crossing thing that Shannon told me about and see if that helps at all. I think my biggest problem right now is finding jobs to apply for where they don't ask for years of experience. Well, that and the fact that I usually don't hear back from people when I do send my resume out. In the past few months the only person I heard back from was Mr. Lugosi (and that was a sorry, not hiring letter). I hate job hunting. It is one of the most depressing things ever.
