2004-04-24 3:16 AM Very Long Day Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Tired Read/Post Comments (0) What a day. Very busy, very good (well, most of it anyway - the getting up early to move my car and not being able to sleep isn't too cool), and very sleepless. Today started off with my having to roll out of bed at 7am to once again move my car to the street. The building was re-painting the stripes in the garage and all cars needed to be out. Forget to move your car? Welcome to your car being towed. Fuckers. So, I got up and sleepily moved my car into one of the few street spots. After moving my car, Rob headed to work and I tried to get some more sleep (due to insomnia last night I wasn't able to fall asleep until around 5am). I got about an hour more sleep before my alarm went off at 10am (it took me until around 9am to fall asleep again). This means that I was going on a total of three hours (interrupted) sleep today. At 10am I got up, showered, and got ready. Carrie came over around 11:30am. We chilled out and talked for a little bit and then headed over to the Media City Center mall in Burbank. We got lunch at the food court (McDonald's for me and Panda Express for her) and then saw a 1:35 showing of 13 Going On 30. The movie was pleasantly surprising. We had wanted to see a girlie movie (which it is), but it's also a very good movie on top of that. I highly recommend it if you're looking for something girly and fun. Very good movie. After the movie we walked around the mall for a bit. We did some looking around and I bought a few things. At Sam Goody I got two CDs (a Guns N' Roses compellation and the 13 Going On 30 soundtrack) and the DVD of Kill Bill Volume 1. At Hot Topic I bought some stickers (a Jolly Roger pirate flag one for my car, one that says "I'm the type of girl your mother warned you about" which also might go on my car, and a zombie bunny one for Rob). At Mervyn's I bought two pairs of work slacks for Rob and a pair of red flip flops for myself. Around 4:30pm we headed back to my place. Luckily, we arrived back after 5pm which meant that I could once again park my car in the space I have in the building's garage. Carrie came up to the apartment with me and we hung out until Rob got home from work. Once Rob was there the three of us just chilled out around the house and talked. A little after 6:30pm Carrie headed out and Rob and I made a run by Bryce and Julia's apartment so that I could drop off a b-day present (from Shannon) to Julia. After the present drop off Rob and I headed out to The Olive Garden for dinner. We had a bit of a wait, but it was worth it. Yummy food. We then made a run over to Target. I got a b-day card to send to my Nana and some air freshener for my car. Rob got some dish soap and a little Grundo (it's a Neopet) figurine for work. After Target it took some funky manuvering to get my car out of the parking spot (a police car had pulled a car over and the cop car was almost entirely blocking me in - the cops were too busy searching the car to move thier car so I could get out), but we finally did so and made our way home. At home we chilled out together and now Rob is passed out. Even though I got three hours of sleep last night I still can't fall asleep tonight. My body and mind are exhausted, but something just won't let me sleep. It's like my mind won't shut off. So, I came on here to play on Neopets a bit and make a posting about today. Gah. Need sleep. ----------
