The cable guy never showed up yesterday. I got to wait around the house all day doing absolutely nothing productive, and the asshole didn't even come. Rob called them again when he got home from work and we were assured that someone would be out later at night - that they were paging a technician right then. LIARS. After D&D he called again and they told us that we never had an appointment for yesterday. That our appointment was for Wednesday. WHAT THE FUCK??? Rob told them that having the guy come on Wednesday was not acceptable. They promised to send someone out today (Saturday) between 10am and 12pm. D&D went well last night. We got a sandwich platter from Togo's for dinner and I think everyone dug that. The game was fun and we actually got some things done. We've spent a lot of past games doing more socializing that gaming, but this time we actually got down to the gaming. However, due to some oddities my character currently has (including mood swings and being massively depressed) it's looking as if she might be leaving the party sometime soon. (Don't worry Berek, your character can stay. I'll work out the logistics with you later in the week. She will probably come back down the road.) So, I'm probably going to be bringing in a new character down the road. A rather cool character. I'll post more about it after I play her next week because I want some things to be a bit of a surprise to the group. Today the cable guy actually showed up on time (around 11something). Because I spent all yesterday doing nothing while waiting for the asshole to show up, Rob dealt with him while I stayed in bed. I wasn't sleeping, I just didn't want to deal with the guy. So, I relaxed and tried to ignore him. This guy was probably one of the dumbest human beings on the face of the planet and should not be working in a job he doesn't understand. *sigh* So, here's the fun that Rob got to deal with. Apparently the problem with our cable was that someone unplugged it from the box. Someone from Adelphia came on Thursday morning with a work order to unplug us. Even though we still have an account with them. Even though cable is NEVER suppossed to be turned off to ANY unit in our building. Our apartment complex pays for our cable in bulk, and even when a unit is vacant they keep the cable hooked up. No one had any idea why they unhooked us. So, the retarded monkey fuck from Adelphia re-hooked the cable and came back to the apartment to check the signal with some weird machine of his (instead of just trying to turn a TV on). He wasn't getting any signal. He kept fiddling with stuff and Rob asked if he was using his equipment correctly. He said yes. After finding out that even though we were hooked back up, we still had no signal he informed Rob that during the disconnect someone had broken a wire. Therefore, they would need at least two weeks to come in, tear open holes in our walls, and re-wire all the cable to this apartment. Rob kept telling him to check again and FINALLY this guy realized that he had been hooking the wrong wires up to the connectors. We had signal after all. THIS GUY WAS A FUCKING MORON. Scarlet S material all the way. After he left Rob and I chilled out in bed a bit more. Later in the day Rob and I pondered going out for a bit, but it's my girlie time of the month and things are BAD with that. So, we decided to stay in. Staying in was a nice idea. We just chilled out around the house, watched our now functioning TV, and worked on making me a new character for his D&D game (complete with kick ass turtle familiar). Now, I'm just checking e-mail, writing this up, and going to do some quickie stuff on Neopets. Then Rob and I will probably head to bed. He's taken up a new activity of reading to me before bed. There are books which he wants me to read which I really have no desire to. So, he's starting to read them to me. It's actually kind of cool to have someone read to me before bed. It relaxes the hell out of me and helps immensely with insomnia. Right now he's reading "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" to me. It's very cool. ----------
