Mood:
My back hurts.

Last night was an incredible D&D game. The whole group was there and we ordered in Thai food for dinner. Unfortunately, dinner was less than spectacular. I ordered a "pan fried noodles" dish, which I was expecting to be like other pan fried noodles I've had (thin and a bit crispy). I was sorely disappointed. They were these weird, big, white, mucus looking things. They tasted like snot. Rob was kind enough to share his fried rice with me 'cause there was no way I was eating snot noodles for dinner. Ew. The game itself kicked major ass. I love my new character and she seems to mesh in well with the group. Rob's games and storylines have kicked a lot of ass as of late. I think the rest of the group is enjoying it as much as I am.

Sleeping last night was a pain in the ass because of my back. I took two Aleve and had Rob rub me down with Icy Hot. That helped a lot and I was able to eventually fall asleep. I also (thanks to my Mom's advice) found a position to sleep in where my back isn't hurting terribly. It's on my right side with my right leg straight down and my left leg bent like a triangle and resting on Rob. My Mom advised to rest it on a pillow, but since I fall asleep snuggling up against Rob it just works better to rest it on him. Besides, he didn't seem to mind.

As I was typing the beginning of the last paragraph, Rob commented that I use the word ass a lot. Yes, I guess I do. So, just for you honey, this entry will be ass-tacular (in a good way). Ass ass ass. Ass ass, ass ass ass. Ass ass ass? Ass ass ass ass, ass ass ass!

Today Rob and I slept in and then ended up heading over to the Burbank mall. I needed to get out and move around a bit. And I needed to be able to get my muscles moving. Rob got some advice from one of the orthopedic surgeons at his hospital yesterday and they said that bed rest was not a good thing - that I should get some movement to try and work that muscle. I didn't want to do a lot of driving because it hurts to drive, so we just stayed local and headed over to Burbank. I also found that I can adjust the lumbar in my car seat so that it puts some nice pressure on my owie spot. We didn't do a lot tonight, but we did get out and move around a bit. We stopped in Lane Bryant where I picked up some much needed panties (I threw out a ton of old ones last week that needed to go to panty heaven). We also went to Mervyn's so that Rob could get some socks, undershirts, and man-panties (boxer briefs to be exact). We then headed over to P.F. Chang's for dinner because it sounded really good. The wait was only about a half of an hour and dinner was super yummy.

After the mall we made a pit stop at the drug store for some necessities and meds and then at the bank. Now we're just doing around the house stuff. Tomorrow I think we're spending some time with Berek and Pita. Yay!

My back still hurts today, but what my Mom and the doctor Rob talked to suggested seems to be working nicely. I've been taking a lot of Aleve, using a heating pad, and using Icy Hot. I've been making sure it gets some movement, but not enough to make it worse. It still aches when I sit and hurts like hell when I breathe, sneeze, etc. Hopefully it should get better over the next few days. If I don't see any improvement by the middle of next week I'll probably see a doctor. I hope it gets better on its own because I DO NOT relish the thought of being in physical therapy again.
