I Want A Turtle

This morning Rob and I headed out to Montclair for our hair appointments. He got his hair cut and I got mine dyed and cut. I went with a red that's a wee bit brighter this time. My last one faded to a strawberry blonde and I'm hoping this one keeps more red in it. I wish they could find a red dye (that doesn't cause cancer) that doesn't fade so quickly. I LOVE the color it is now. It's a light, bright, vibrant red. I like it more than any other hair color I've had over the past few years. I also got my hair cut while I was at the salon. My ends were getting pretty bad, so I got it cut up to about chin length. The cut also looks great. I wasn't sure about going that short (I had been wanting to try and grow it out), but those ends needed to go. I'm glad I did get it cut that length because it looks really cute. Rob seems to like both the color and the cut. While there Rob got his hair cut as well. It was much needed seeing as how he was once again starting to get a bit of an afro.

After our hair appointments we headed to a reptile store that is in the same complex as my salon. We looked at some of the critters there. I never realized how cute turtles are. Rob talked to one of the people at the store about them and apparently one of the kinds they have there are vegetarians (which is good because I could never feed bugs or small live animals to anything) and live a very long time. I'm so tempted to get one down the road. Keep it in a terrarium on our huge bathroom counter. I know I probably shouldn't get another pet, but they're so damn cute. Plus, they had some rather teeny ones there. I want a turtle. Heck, that turtle would even have a character in our Friday night D&D game. Amber and Sydney already do. Amber's character is Pita's dire kitten and Sydney's character is the Duke of Mowr (who is a gnome illusionist turned cat). Yes, we're weird. But, we're also gamers so what did you expect?

We then headed to a local mall and looked around Lane Bryant to see if they had anything of interest. The only thing I picked up were some nice panties (hipsters, string bikinis, and thongs) that were *way* on sale.

After the mall, we headed to a local movie theatre to see if anything we wanted to see was playing within the next hour or so. Not only were there no movies we wanted to see playing any time soon, but there was also no parking (and a lot of cars in the lot looking for spots). I need to learn to stay away from movie theatres when huge blockbuster movies (like Spiderman) come out. It gets to be a mess near them. So, we headed out of the theatre area and made a quick pit stop to fill my car up with gas and to wash my car.

We then made our way over to a local Best Buy to just check some things out. We wanted to look at XM radios. We're thinking of getting one down the road. Chances are we'll talk to Berek about which one he got and all that. It sounds like it would be something neat to have. While there I picked up a new charger for my phone (the old one is having issues).

Post Best Buy we went to Long John Silver's for dinner. Yes, it was time for more crack battered fish and chicken (and shrimp for Rob). Dinner was tasty and when we were finished we hit the road and headed home. Recently, we've been watching some TV and now it's time to mess around on the net. E-mails, journal posting, and Neopets (oh my). Hopefully, sometime tomorrow we'll hang out with Berek and Pita a bit. Other than that we really don't have anything of interest planned for the 4th except for sleeping in and meeting with our cat sitter.
