2004-07-06 3:13 PM Turtle Books and Pedicures Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Busy Read/Post Comments (3) Yesterday Rob and I spent most of our day running around and getting some things done. First we headed to Border's to get some books on turtles. I ended up getting three of them. One owner's manual on turtles (aquatic), one owner's manual on tortoises (land), and one "Turtles for Dummies" book. I also got a small stuffed "Very Hungry Catepillar" for Rob (it's his favorite childhood book) and a bookmark. Rob ended up getting the first Harry Potter book. I think we used to have one, but I lent it to someone and haven't seen it since so we just decided to get a new one. From the book store it was on to the drug store. Rob and I needed to get a lot of things to bring along with us on our trip. Luckily, it wasn't very crowded so we were able to get what we needed and get out of there fairly quickly. We then made a stop at the ATM to get some cash out. After that we headed to get pedicures. I had a bad experience the last time I was at my usual salon in the Burbank mall (the polish job was shoddy and they cut one of my toes) so we decided to try a new place. It's called the Oasis Nail Spa and it's on Riverside in Toluca Lake (right by Bob's). This place is fantastic! The pedicure was amazing and my nails look stunning. They really took their time to get the polish right. I was quite impressed by this place and so was Rob. So, that's going to be our regular nail salon from now on. Rob mentioned to me that when I was drying my nails under the UV lamps that the girl next to me kept staring at me. He thought she was checking me out. I highly doubt that. I assumed it was more of a staring at me in a negative way, but he insists she was checking me out. I don't know, I just can't see how anyone would want to check me out. I'm just not that physically attractive. By the time we were done with our pedis we were both very hungry so we grabbed some sandwiches at Subway and headed home. At home we gamed a bit and watched some TV. Today I'm doing laundry and household stuff. It looks like this is going to be a very busy week for me. I have a ton and a half of stuff that needs to be done before we leave on vacation. I had hoped to get a day or two in to hang with friends before we left, but it doesn't look like that will be happening. There just isn't the time. So, I'm going to have to wait on hang time until we get back. Oh well, it's worth being busy for awhile to be able to get out of LA for a week. ----------
