Yesterday Rob and I got up bright and early (aka 6:30am) and showered and finished packing. We were ready to go a bit early, so we spent about a half hour playing with the kitties before we left. The limo arrived pretty much at 8:30 on the dot. We got to LAX in a half hour and were the third person in line to check in with the airline. I love flying Midwest Airlines. You don't have to deal with the insane check in lines like you do with the bigger airlines. We checked in, had our luggage scanned, and then made our way through security. The security line was pretty long, but it moved quickly enough. This time Rob didn't get pulled to the side and made to take his pants down. I think it's because he has a new ID that looks more like him and less like Charles Manson.

Within about an hour of arriving at LAX we were past security and into the waiting area. We were both hungry, but the only food around was Burger King. Ew. Unfortunately, our desire for some breakfast was greater than our disgust for their food. So, we grabbed some breakfast at BK. We really shouldn't have. My stomach was messed up for the rest of the day.

After breakfast we waited by the gate and our plane boarded on time. We were seated next to each other and ended up getting a row of three seats to ourselves. Unfortunately, we were at the back of the plane. The second to the last row. The galley was across from us and the flight attendants forgot to secure one of the compartments on take off, so when the plane took off it started raining cups. I leaned over onto Rob just in case any of the cups tried to come over and bean me. The flight was all right. I don't like flying and the turbulance bothered me in spots, but we got to Milwaukee safe and sound (and about fifteen minutes early to boot). Our plane taxied at a gate far away from security so not only were we one of the last people off of the plane (because of where our seats were), but it took a while to get to where my Mom was waiting to meet us (right by security).

We went to baggage and waited around for our suitcase to come around. It was one of the last ones, but it was there (which is more than I can say for other airlines that I have flown). Once we had our suitcase we headed to the car and took off.

The drive back to my Mom's place was pretty uneventful. It took about three hours to get to her house and we made a stop for dinner at Culver's. Rob slept for most of the way to her house and my Mom and I talked. At one point Rob woke up because a HUGE bug smacked into the windshield. The windshield was pretty much a smooshed bug graveyard by the time we got to Galena.

We got to my Mom's house around 9:30pm. We unpacked, changed into comfy lounge clothes, and then watched TV for a bit. We spent the night chilling out around the house and didn't get to sleep until around 2am.

Rob and I slept very well last night. We were both exhausted and needed the sleep. Nothing major was planned for today so my Mom was cool with us sleeping in. And sleep in we did. We didn't even get out of bed until 1:30pm. We chilled out for a bit, got ready, and then headed to the grocery store. After getting some groceries we went to The Log Cabin for dinner and then headed back to my Mom's place. Now we're just watching TV around the house. So far, the trip has been very nice and relaxing. I don't even want to think that a week from now we'll be on the airplane back to LA. Yuck! I am so happy to be out here.
