Wishing that Sunday wasn't only 3 days away.

We were planning on getting up this morning around 10:30am. The alarm went off, Rob and I decided to cuddle a bit, and we ended up falling back asleep. We woke up again around 12:30. At that point we got up, woke up my Mom, and showered and got ready. Later on we headed out to the lake.

At the lake near my Mom's house (I believe it's called lake Galena - real original there) you can rent pontoon boats. We rented one for two hours. We too some sandwiches, chips, and drinks out there and had lunch on the boat. Pontoon boats have motors so it was easy to manuver around the lake. All of us took turns driving and all of us ended up with wet butts because the seat was soaking wet from the rain we had the other night. The time on the lake was fun. Rob had never even been on a lake before. While on the lake we got to see some turtles sunning themselves on logs and some crane like birds (I believe they're called herons). The water was very algae filled so we didn't get to see many fish except for some teeny minnow looking things. That blew because when the lake is clear you can see some really neat fish in there. And some of them are big. Rob noticed a sign saying that some fish in there were around 4 feet long.

After the pontoon boat we headed back to my Mom's place and chilled out around the house for a bit. My Mom took a bath and washed her hair because she felt scuzzy after the time on the lake and Rob taught me how to play the kind of poker that he was playing on the gambling boat in Dubuque on Monday. I *kind* of get it, but I think I'll need more practice before trying to play it at a card table.

Around 6:30pm we headed out to Happy Joe's for dinner. Happy Joe's is a very yummy pizza place. We ended up getting some REAL Chicago style pizza (super thick with the sauce on top) for dinner. For dessert we headed down the road to Culver's for some custard. Then it was back to my Mom's place. Now we're watching TV and relaxing.

I'm really enjoying my time out here and am not looking forward to this Sunday. I do not want to go back to LA. Not at all.
