Fahrenheit 9/11: Go See It!

Mood:
Wishing I had more time out here. Sunday is getting way too close.

We all got up at 10:30 this morning. After getting ready, we headed out and grabbed lunch at the Subway on highway 20 on the way to Dubuque.

Our first stop in Dubuque was Wal-mart. I needed to pick up a few things and haven't been to a Wal-mart since last winter (because we don't have one near our place in LA), so it seemed like a good place to go. I picked up some migraine medicine (I'm almost out and had a hell of a migraine last night), some socks, and some new glass cases for my new glasses.

After Wal-mart we made a quick stop at Old Navy. As many of you know, Rob and I collect their cute plastic piggy banks. They had a hot pink one that we don't have in stock (and majorly on sale for two dollars). So, we picked it up. We then looked around a discount bookstore and my Mom picked up some books. We also made a stop at Culver's for a snack of frozen custard.

Then, it was time to head to a local movie theatre. The three of us decided to see Fahrenheit 9/11. Wow. I really think *everyone* needs to see this movie. Whether you like the current President or not, you need to see this film. It was incredible. My Mom, Rob, and I really liked it. There were times I cried, times I laughed, and times I got seriously pissed off (not at the movie, but at how much bullshit the American population has been fed over the past few years). The movie really was amazing. Go see it.

After the film we headed back to Galena to have dinner at Canova's. There was a 45 minute wait so we walked around town a bit. We ended up stopping in a toy shop and I got an adorable baby blanket with a ducky on it. I so want to have a baby soon. But I just don't think it's possible. There are problems with having one soon, and having one later down the road will probably be an impossibility. I don't want to go into this right now, so remind me to tell you all what the problems are when I'm back at home. I could use some opinions on the situation. Rob got me a really cute stuffed bat. We also stopped in a cooking store and I got Rob some uber-cool rubberish mitts for taking things out of the oven and this weird changable measuring spoon. I think he digs them.

After wandering around a bit we headed to dinner at Canova's. Dinner was decent and when we were done we made a quick stop at the grocery store (Dick's) and then headed back to my Mom's place. Once again we're just watching TV and messing around on the laptop. We don't have any set plans for tomorrow. Maybe we'll head to the main drag in Galena and check out some more of the shops. Most of them were already closed when we were wandering around before dinner.
