New Glasses

Yesterday after Rob got home from work the two of us headed out to the mall in Sherman Oaks. While I like the new glasses I got, I'm not used to a frame with no nosepads, so the way they sit gives me a headache after a few hours of wearing them. Not a good thing. So, we decided to hit the mall and look around Lenscrafters to see if they had the same frames as the old ones I like in stock (the one near my Mom's place did, but they were an odd blue color).

Lenscrafters was our first stop in the mall. Unfortunately, they didn't have the frames I was looking for. So, I checked out other metal frames with nosepads on them and ended up finding one that was comfy and that Rob thought looked good on me. They're very business looking. They're a black metal frame. Kind of rectangle-ish. Hard to describe. Luckliy they had my prescription in stock and in the glare resistant lenses. So, I put in an order for them and was told to come back in about an hour.

From there we headed to dinner at the food court. I had Subway and Rob got some Japanese food. We toyed with the idea of getting a Cinnabon, but we were both really full after dinner. Then we headed to Lane Bryant where I got a cute blazer that I can use as a fall jacket. It looks like Lane Bryant is starting to get some more suits in, so some day in the near future I'll have to make a run there for suits. I don't have many and as soon as I get a job I'm going to need a lot of them. We also stopped in Williams Sonoma and Rob got a few things there (a spatula, bread pan, some bundt cake mix, and some bread mix). After that it was back to Lenscrafters. It was an hour later and my glasses were done.

I tried on the new glasses, got them fitted, and then we headed back into the mall. I like the new ones. The ones I got at my Mom's place are very cute and cool and these ones are more business like. They'll look really cool with a suit. I think Rob likes them because they kind of give that "naughty businesswoman" look off.

We made two more stops before we left the mall. One was in Sephora so that I could get some body spray and body wash. The other was in Z Gallerie to get the measurements for a dresser we had been thinking about getting for awhile now (which matches our bed). Unfortunately, they didn't have it in the store anymore. It's a piece that's been discontinued. They have a few more in the warehouse and then that's it. So, we're going to head back over there either this weekend or sometime next week and order it. If they have the nightstand in stock we also might get one of those.

After checking out the info on the dresser we headed out of the mall and went back home. We watched some news, Rob baked up the cherry vanilla bread that he got at Williams Sonoma (very yummy) and then we headed to bed.

Not much of interest is happening today. I'm doing more laundry and more job hunting. No word from the recent firms that I've applied to. My knee is hurting like hell and if it keeps up I'm going to have someone at Rob's hospital take a look at it. I've been icing it at night which seems to help a bit. The thing that really sucks is that it's my right knee. So, not only can I not do a hell of a lot of walking, I also can't do a hell of a lot of driving on it. I just hope it doesn't get any worse. The last thing I need while hunting for a job is to have to go in for knee surgery. I know I'll have to get surgery on it eventually, but now is not a good time.
