Saturday Rob and I spent most of the day waiting for maintanance to come to our apartment. They never did. We called them yesterday to let them know that we had one minor thing that needed to be done (a light bulb in the bathroom) and one medium thing that needed to be done (the air conditioner filter was full of dust and crap and blowing out stuff that has been giving me constant asthma problems). We called them again at 9am and we were told they would be up sometime in the morning. Afternoon rolled around and still no maintanance. Finally, after waiting around all day Rob went down and asked for them to just give him a filter, which they did. He figured out how to replace it (though it needed the aid of some duct tape because it kept popping off) himself. Maintanance never came by for the light bulb. That's one of the things that annoys me about this building. You can never get maintanance up here for anything. We called down to them a few months ago to help us fix the cover to the cable outlet which the moronic Adelphia guy had ripped out of the wall and to aid us with our garbage disposal which reeks like rotting ass and they *still* haven't come to fix any of those. You would think that when we're paying $2100 a month to live in an apartment that mantanance could actually come by when called.

We finally ended up getting out of the apartment at 6pm. We headed over to the AMC 6 in Burbank for a 7:00 showing of The Manchurian Candidate. It was a good movie, but also very creepy. There were some scenes (when Denzel is digging something out of his back with a knife) that I had to turn away from. All in all it was a good (albiet creepy and disturbing) movie. I've seen the original back in college, but don't remember it well enough to compare it to this remake.

After the movie we headed to Chevy's for some yummy Mexican food. Our waiter was a total space case. He took Rob's order and then started to wander away before I called him back to take my order. He also messed up our dessert order, but we didn't say anything because it was still something we both liked. Good food, but the waiter needed to be on this planet.

We then headed to Barnes and Noble. I picked up a copy of Fangoria and the latest Consumer Reports magazine on cars. Rob's going to be getting his license soon (I hope) and so we wanted to look at cars so he can get some idea of what he wants (that's also safe and reliable). Wow. The latest version of my car (the RX330) is the highest rated mid-size SUV out there. It had almost perfect marks in everything. I think when it comes time for me to get a new car I'll be going with one of those. They made them even better than my RX300 - and that's saying something!

When we got home we watched the tail end of the men's gymnastics Olympics competition and now it's Neopets time. Chances are it will be a late night tonight.

You Are Belle

You're most like Belle from "Beauty and the Beast"! You don't take any shit, even from Beast. In fact, you think his extrodinarily huge figure and sharp claws are kind of a turn on...
