2004-08-24 3:56 PM My Mom Is A Saint Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Thinking that my Mom rocks for helping me in the hunt for the glasses I've been searching for. Read/Post Comments (9) Last night Rob and I headed out to the Glendale Galleria to talk face to face with the people at the Lenscrafters there. They had already sold one pair of glasses I asked them to hold out from under me and were giving us the run around on a pair that the store in Iowa shipped to them. They also hardly ever call us back when we call them, so it was time to go there. The girl we spoke with (who I believe was also the manager) said that she had tried calling Airbourne Express all day long, but it was always busy. Rob thought this was a crock of shit because he deals with that company at work and said they they usually have around 100 operaters working. It's not that difficult to get ahold of them. The store was still claiming that they had never received the glasses from the store in Iowa. So, we headed to the food court to grab some Mongolian Barbeque for dinner. While eating dinner my Mom called us. She had been working with the store in Iowa and they had easily gotten through to Airbourne Express. The frames had been mailed out on August 11 and arrived and were signed for on August 13. The store in Iowa spoke with someone at the store in Glendale and were told that they would have someone look around for the frames right away. So, while I vented my anger by shoe shopping (and getting a pair of rain boots and two pairs of rain clogs at Payless), Rob went back to the store. I was ready to kill someone over there and he's good at keeping a level head. When he went there he once again spoke with the manager and told her what we had found out. Even though the store from Iowa said that the store from Glendale had signed for the package on August 13, they were still denying ever receiving them. So, Rob and I headed out of the mall. When I got home I talked to my Mom about the situation and she said she would talk to the store in Iowa to see if they had any other frames of that style and size in. Luckily, they did. So, she's getting a pair made for me at the Iowa store and then they will mail them directly to me. My Mom is so cool - if they wouldn't have had them in at the Iowa store she was going to have them check around the Iowa/Wisconsin/Illinois area to see if anyone had them in. She rocks. Apparently the Iowa store was super nice to her and couldn't believe the run around that the Glendale store has been giving us. This morning the Glendale store called us (after getting reamed out by the Iowa store). The manager left a message on our machine and said that they had just received (today) the frames in from "the Idaho store". Um ... yeah. Someone needs to learn their states. Anyone believe that the frames arrived today when the Iowa store and Airbourne Express has a signature from August 13? Neither do I. I'll call that store back either later tonight or tomorrow and tell them where they can shove those frames. I don't appreciate being given the run around for more than a week after they got the frames in their store. Besides, I now prefer getting them from the Iowa store because they were super nice about the whole thing and did everything they could to help. They deserve the sale a lot more then Glendale does. On a completely unrelated side note, Rob's cat is a freaky little perv. This afternoon while I'm job hunting I'm also doing laundry. She shoved her head into a pair of Rob's boxer briefs, ran up onto the arm of the couch, and started rubbing herself on the arm of the couch. There is something seriously wrong with that cat. Ew. ----------
