Yesterday I headed out of the house around 10:30am and got to Shannon's place around 11am. We had a much anticipated girl day ahead of us.

The security guards at her apartment complex never cease to amaze me with their stupidity. There's a gate and you have to check in with the guard before going in to the complex. I used to live in a large gated complex like that and the guard would always call up to the tenant to make sure that the person at the gate would be allowed entry. No such thing there. Their main concern was that I didn't have a parking space reserved. When I told them that I would be parking in Shannon's spot, they let me on in. I guess as long as you're parked legally in there, they really don't care *why* you're there.

When I got in to the complex she met me in front of her building and showed me where to park. I joked with her that they would probably let me in if I said I was there to kill her as long as I was going to park legally when doing so. She told me that there are nights when they just leave the complex gates wide open. *meeps* I headed up to her apartment for a little bit (the cavernous size of her gorgeous living room never ceases to amaze me) and then we headed out to IHOP for lunch. Mmmmm, pumpkin pancakes. *drools* Lunch went well and the waiter seemed to be on top of things. We talked and she gave me a kick ass shade of pink nail polish. She had gotten it from her salon, but it's too pale of a color for her. She knew I liked super pale colors on my nails since they tend to chip a lot, so she gave it to me. Thanks Shannon!

After IHOP we headed to the Oasis Nail Salon in Burbank (the salon Rob and I have been getting our pedis at as of late). Shannon got a pedi (her toes are now a cool shade of dark purple that match the top of her hair) and I got a mani. Mmmmm, their deluxe manicures are heaven. You get a salt scrub on your arms and hands, then an oil rub, and they even do a neck and upper back rub. Soooooo nice. I got my nails done a very sheer opalescent shade. I'm happy with them. Here's to hoping that they don't start chipping right away!

When our nails had dried we headed over to Hollywood and Highland. We looked around there for awhile and found that the Sephora there was rather disappointing and that the staff there was on the retarded side of things. I had fun checking out the shops with Shannon (the last time I had been there, there was barely anything open). We got some drinks at Starbucks and she picked up some yummy smelling body souffles at Origins. Around 3:30 we headed out and back to her place. I dropped her off around 4pm and headed straight down 6th to Good Sam to pick Rob up from work.

The drive there wasn't bad at all. I made good time and met Rob in the hospital lobby when he was done with work. The drive back home was a nightmare and we saw two rather bad accidents on the way back. And we weren't even on the freeway! We took side streets back since the 101 would have been a nightmare at that time. On the way back home I was feeling a bit exhausted from running around all day and Rob was about to collapse from work. We decided to skip cooking because neither of us wanted to move. So, we headed to KFC to pick up some popcorn chicken (it sounded SO good). Things didn't work out with that. Apparently the KFC near us is chock full of assinine and retarded employees (who where pushing things customers didn't want on them because they didn't have what the customer did want) and they don't have popcorn chicken anymore. I didn't feel like their fried chicken pieces because they're just a bit too greasy, so we said fuck it and headed back home.

At home we ordered in some Koo Koo Roo, cleaned out part of our linen cabinet that was full to the point where stuff kept falling on our heads when we opened it, and then just relaxed and popped in a DVD. We watched Embrace the Darkness 2. It was... interesting. I think the first one was better (the guy was a lot hotter). Though watching this one did lead to another quote for the quote board. You'll just have to wait until the quote board fills up and I post it to see that the quote was. By the time we went to bed, we were both exhausted and pretty much fell asleep immediatly. Today it's back to job hunting. Blah.
