I wish we could afford property because Rob and I think it's time to move out of this apartment building. Sure, it's nice and all, but this morning we had even more problems with our plumbling. First, it was bubbles foaming out of the toilet in our second bathroom every other Thursday. After about a year of having maintanance look at it, it stopped. Then it was having rust and bubbles back up into the shower in our second bathroom. Maintanance called in a plumber to snake out the drain and that stopped as well. A few weeks ago black sludge and maggots backed up into our kitchen sink. It took an entire day of plumbers going through the pipes to fix it. Those plumbers also warned us that this building was going to have some serious plumbing problems in the future because the pipes used were the wrong size and because this building had never done any pipe maintanance. This morning Rob took a shower and as usual, the bathtub was taking forever to drain. He also went to the bathroom and accidently clogged the toilet. When he was plunging the toilet, weird rust and feces came into the bathtub through the drain. Once the toilet was plunged the bathtub needed to be plunged because the water had completely stopped draining. The bathtub then needed to be cleaned due to the nastiness that had come up into it. I wonder how long it will take to have someone look at this. Should our toilet and bathtub even be connected like that? Aargh! The problems we're having in this place are driving me up the wall. I'm going to have Rob ask the manager if he knows what our rent increase will be this year, because if it goes up by a lot I don't know if we can afford to stay here - and even if we can I don't know if it will be worth it with all the problems we've been having. ----------
You are Bastet! As the daughter of Ra, Bastet is affiliated with the warmth and power of the sun. She was a protector of women and the home. Bastet also was the patron god of cats, and to hurt one of these sacred animals was very, very bad! Cats were to be treated with the utmost reverence: they wore jewelry and were allowed to eat from the same plate as their owners! Even stray cats were fed milk-soaked bread and fish. Their love for cats was so deep that the Egyptians would save the cats from a burning building before even attempting to put the fire out. And when a pet cat died, ancient Egyptians would shave off their eyebrows as a gesture of grief!
