The Beginning Of 2005

Scary to think that it's 2005 already. It barely seemed to be 2004 at all. Heh. Maybe this year I'll actually find a job.

This morning started off with Rob and I being woken up by the phone ringing. It was my Dad. Normally, it takes him forever to call back (I only left a message for him yesterday), but it would seem that a severe health problem is a good motivator for him to call me back. Who knew? He was rather worried about me and wanted to make sure that it was safe for me to wait until the 12th for my appointment. He also asked for some information about the cardiologist I'll be seeing because he's going to check him out. And he's going to check his contacts to find out who the best cardiologist is in L.A. in case I need further treatment. He apologised for not calling on Christmas, but he was in the hospital with a kidney stone. Owch. He's going to try and come out here next weekend (the 9th) if he can to see me. Keep in mind that this is the man who didn't see me once when he was out here for 13 straight weeks for a trial. I guess a severe health problem REALLY is a good motivator. When I see the cardiologist I'm supposed to make sure I get an EKG, a stress test, and blood work done. Ew. Chances are I'll be driving to Rob's work and he'll be driving home.

After talking on the phone to him (and making a quick call to my Mom to let her know that he called) Rob and I went back to sleep. We spent most of the day in bed and eventually got ready to head out to dinner. We had 7pm reservations at La Fondue. Dinner was excellent and the flirty waiter that Rob wants to kill was working in another room. He did stop by the table to say hi to me and also flirted with me something fierce when I went to the washroom. So weird.

After dinner Rob and I decided to make a game store run. We chose The Game Zone over LionHeart because it was closer (Pasadena vs LaVerne). That was a huge mistake. After we went off the freeway and onto a side street some asshole kids threw white crap all over Rob's car. So, we had to make a pit stop at a car wash in the back of a gas station. We weren't the only ones doing this. A guy in front of us had eggs, shaving cream, silly string, and possibly paint all over him and his car. People were all over the place hanging out for the stupid parade tomorrow morning and they were all acting like a bunch of fuckwits. I thought we should have pulled over and called the police when they threw crap on Rob's car.

We finally made it to the game store. Rob picked up two D&D books he's been looking for (Races of Destiny and Ghostwalk) and I picked up two pairs of fuzzy dice (d20's that is) for Rob's and my car. After the game store we headed back to our area without further incident because we drove on back streets way the hell out of Pasadena before heading to the freeway. Those fuckers who threw crap onto Rob's car should be anally raped by rabid syphalis infected monkeys. It's just not cool to fuck with someone's car.

On the way home we stopped at Von's for a bathroom run and some peas and tea and then we headed home. From 11pm until around 12:30am we rung in the New Year in bed. What can I say, it's tradition. Talk about a happy new year! Now we're just messing around in the business center.
