Wonderful Sunday In Solvang

Saturday during the day the people from DirectTv came over and installed our TV system. We bucked and decided to pay though the nose to get TV back. I have to admit, it's pretty cool.

Saturday night Rob and I made a run to The Pleasure Chest and Hustler Hollywood. We got a whole bunch of toys at both places (and I picked up a super cool cat carrier for Sydney - it's red and black and has a skull and crossbone thingie on it - at Hustler). I'm not going to post the toys we bought on my public journal. Let's just say it's enough to scare Berek and Pita. I'll probably post about it on my private journal though. I think I'm going to need to re-take that purity test because I'm quickly catching up to Shannon. Don't say I didn't warn you if you go and read the private entry.

Yesterday was wonderful. Rob, Berek, Pita, and I did a day trip up to Solvang.

Rob and I got up at 7am, got ready, and then headed out to pick up Berek and Pita at their place. Once we got them we headed on the 101 and made our way up to Solvang. We spent the ride listening to music and talking. You could see downed trees and dirt and mud piles from the storms that we had a few weeks ago. We also were able to see where the horrible landslide was that covered people's houses. It was scary.

We arrived in Solvang a little before 11am and waited until 11 to grab lunch. We ate at the restaurant near the blue windmill (I always forget the name of that place) and got sausage platters. After lunch we walked around the town and looked in shops. We didn't have the time to see everything, but we did get a good section of town done. We looked in a ton of shops and all of us bought various things. At one point we had a scary sighting of a man in a wheelchair who was completely naked (not even underwear) who had a small blanket over his genetalia. Meep!

We also stopped in Royal Oaks and got a free wine tasting because Rob and I are club members (and guests can taste for free). I skipped out on the tasting becasue I kept having hot flashes and the last thing I needed was alcohol in my system making me even hotter. The other three did some tasting though and Berek ended up a bit on the buzzed side. We then tried to get our usual massages at the De-Stress Cafe, but they were completely booked. It was very disappointing since Rob and I were both aching and since it's one of the reasons we like heading up there. Oh well, we'll try again next time.

We walked around the town some more and around 6pm or so made our way over the the Chinese restaurant (Mandarin Touch) for dinner. It's my favorite Chinese restaurant (the one in Montclair coming in a close second). Dinner was yummy. After dinner we headed back to Rob's car and headed out of Solvang. A wonderful time was had by all and I think that all four of us really needed a nice relaxing day like that. We need to go back again sometime soon.

On the ride home, Pita and I were possessed by something. I think it was the Void, she thinks it was Cthulhu. Either way, we both were nuts. We kept talking to Rob in this weird little creepy baby doll voice and asking him questions like "Robert, are you bleeding yet". At one point Rob actually shuddered and got the creeping willies from Pita saying "Robert, can I drink your spinal fluid". She also would creep up on him and make these weird alien noises. At one point we stopped at a Foster's Freeze for bathrooms (and ice cream). When we got back in the car Pita and I kept being creepy. We sounded like those weird and creepy blue and pink bears (I think they're called Fluffy and Uranus) with the big eyes from Duckman. Berek was creeped out at first, then joined in with us, and then passed out. Rob had to put up with us asking him creepy things in those voices for pretty much the entire trip. It's amazing that he's still (mostly) sane.

We dropped Berek and Pita off at their house and then made our way back home. Rob and I made a quick stop at Ralph's because I needed some yogurt and cranberry juice and then we headed home, watched some Adult Swim, and passed out.
