2005-03-21 4:13 PM Goodbye to Al Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Sick Read/Post Comments (1) Saturday my cold/flu was getting worse. It had gone from a sore throat to having my nose completely congested. Today it's all that and I'm coughing up crap. Ew. If we were just doing a normal night out on Saturday, I would have cancelled and stayed home. But I wasn't missing the club that night for the world - it was kind of a goodbye party for Al. We picked Berek and Pita up from their place around 6:30pm, grabbed some fast food on the way home, and then headed back to our place to get ready. Berek wore black pants and a black shirt along with a collar and leash (which Pita pulled him along on). We also put some black eyeliner on him. Pita wore a gorgeous purple and black goth dress. Rob wore black leather pants, a white poet's shirt, and a black leather vest. I wore a black 1920's flapper dress with opera gloves. We headed out of the apartment around 9pm and got to the club before it opened. Al and Shannon were already in line. We met up with the two of them in line, talked for a bit, and were let into the club (Bar Sinister) about 5-10 minutes later. Once we got in, we headed directly to an area with tables and couches. On the up side, it was a nice area to sit in. On the down side, the music was really loud so it was hard to hear anyone. Bar Sinister was way cool. The music was way better than Dungeon. It was '80's and '90's alternative and goth music. I knew almost everything they played. There was no floor show like Dungeon, but I can live with that. Unfortunately I wasn't able to check out the cool upstairs room that I had heard so much about. I can't climb stairs due to a problem with my knees and there was no other way up there. All in all the club was rather fun. Berek and Pita were the only ones who drank any sort of alcohol, and what they did drink was minor. How odd, a night of clubbing with friends where no one got wasted. And still, it was a fun time. I think Al was the only one who danced at all. I usually dance at clubs, but I need a bit of booze in me to losen me up first. Since all I had was a Diet Coke and a Jones soda, I was was too self conscious to get out on the dance floor. Al had a new look - shaved head - and looked very dapper in his black suit. For the first time in a long time, he seemed happy. While I'm sad that he's leaving LA for Austin, I'm glad that he's doing something that makes him happy. If this is the best path for him, I wish him all the luck in the world. I will miss him though. We stayed at Bar Sinister for a few hours and the Al started to get a bit tired. We headed out of the club and said our goodbyes. Shannon and Al headed off and Berek, Pita, Rob, and myself headed back to Rob's car. We made a stop off at our apartment so that Rob and I could get back into casual clothes. We then took Berek and Pita to their place so they could also get changed into something more comfortable (and so Berek could take his make up off). Then the four of us headed to Denny's for some post club food. After foodage we dropped Berek and Pita off at their place and headed home. Sunday Rob and I spent the day in. I was feeling worse and decided it would be best for me to rest up. We ordered in dinner, gamed, and watched the news and part of Adult Swim. Today I feel like total crap. My nose is so stuffed I can't breathe, when I breathe through my mouth I'm breathing through a layer of mucus, I'm coughing nasty stuff up, I have a fever, I'm dizzy, and whenever I cough it takes all my willpower not to throw up. I think I have whatever the hell I had about two months ago. And that's not good becasue before I caught it again I was still having lingering effects (runny nose and coughing) from the one I had two months ago. Bleh. Let's hope I get over this soon. ----------
