2005-04-30 12:50 AM Hanging In The Pet Food Store Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Tired Read/Post Comments (2) Tonight we were supposed to have D&D, but one of Berek's employees called in sick so he had to pull a double shift and stay at work. So, Rob called Bryce and Carrie and let them know that we would try again next week. No biggie. When Rob got home from work today, the first thing he did was shower. Apparently he was absolutely disgusted and felt like he was going to barf because he was trapped in the subway (the car stopped in a tunnel) with a car full of people and one homeless guy who crapped himself. Ew. After the shower we mulled over ideas for the night and decided to call Pita to see what she was up to. She was free and we decided to hang. Our original plans were to head to Santa Monica and meet up with Berek when he got out of work, but by the time we got to the Sunset exit off the 405 it was already 8:30 and a lot of the shops close around 9pm. So, we decided to head down Sunset to Berek's work. We hung out with him as he finished up work and closed the store (and picked up some cat toys, including a replacement for a well loved squid of Amber's). When he was done with work (a little before 10pm) we decided to head to a nearby Denny's in Santa Monica. We talked, we ate, and we laughed. A lot. We get weird when we're together. By the time we were done with dinner it was already 11pm so we said our goodbyes and Berek and Pita headed home. We tried to head home as well, but decided to take side streets instead of the freeway back. Mistake. Big mistake. Rob started getting really tired on the way home so we made a pit stop at the 7-Eleven on the corner of Wilshire and Highland. He got a Red Bull, chugged it, and we were good to go (or so we thought). When we were on Highland (a little bit before Sunset) the traffic stopped. It was stopped as far as the eye could see (past Hollywood). So, we decided to head down Sunset and hop on the 101. The signs for the 101 are really badly placed and we got lost a few times before realizing that there is no entrance to the north 101 on Sunset and we had to head over to Hollywood to get on the freeway. Eventually, we made it home. Around 12:40. Gah. We're here now and I wanted to make a journal entry before we head off to bed. Tomorrow Rob gets to take his car in to the dealer. Oil change and a few things are wrong with it that need to be checked out. The electrical system is having problems (things don't turn off when the car is off) and sometimes the car doesn't accelerate when he presses down on the gas pedal (and it sometimes makes a wheezing noise when he accelerates). We've had the car for less than six months (bought it new at the end of November) so everything is under warranty. It's just annoying that we're having any problems with it since it's a 2005 Toyota Camry. I thought those were supposed to be reliable. Bleh. ----------
