This afternoon Rob took the car in to be serviced. He had a coupon for a free oil change and the problems were under warranty so we thought it would actually be free. No such luck. Apparently the coupon is only good for the oil. Everything else (tire rotation, filling fluids, putting air in the tires, the hazardous waste fee, etc.) he had to pay for. The bill was in the $50's. So much for a free oil change. As far as the electrical problem went, they couldn't simulate it. They said it was probably a fluke. The problem with the car lagging for a bit when Rob accelerates they said was normal for this engine. Why am I having flashbacks of going to the Ford dealer with my Mustang and being told that all of the problems it had (like pulling and wobbling.... which ended up being from a bent axle) were "normal"?

When he got back we got ready to head out. We gave Pita a call since we knew that Berek was in San Diego with his family for the day. She was just hanging out around the house and was cool to hang with us. So, we headed out, picked her up, and headed to Santa Monica. We had dinner at Buca Di Beppo (Italian food sounded so yummy) and then walked around the Promenade for a bit. I found a really cool pair of Doc Martin's (I need some shoes that are not Uggs or flip flops), but they didn't have them in my size. I checked out the Skecher's store, but their shoes are super narrow which doesn't work well for me since I'm flat footed (which is why I love Doc's... they give great arch support). We looked around a whole bunch of other stores, but the only thing I ended up buying was some new perfume in Sephora (for some odd reason, the one I usually wear now wears off within minutes). Pita picked up some Star Wars legos for Berek in Puzzle Zoo. When we were done walking around the Promenade we got some dessert crepes and then headed out.

We took Pita home (PCH to Topanga Canyon) and Rob nearly wet himself when he was driving the canyon road. This was the first time he has ever driven a road like that, and he did an excellent job of it. Though he was kind of freaked out. We dropped Pita off at her place and headed back home. On the way home we made a quick run into a drug store for some necessities and a quick stop at the bank to get some cash out (we're considering doing the Ren Faire again tomorrow if the weather doesn't get too hot).

We just got back from our night out and like last night I thought I'd make a posting before heading off to bed. Sleep now.
