pregnancy

Yesterday I headed out of the house around 2:30 and made great time getting to the hospital. Traffic was wide open (though more than a few cars kept trying to come over on me and cream me) and I got there around 3pm. I need to get there early so I can start chugging water for my pee in a cup test. Rob had me wait in the hospital's break room until it was my appointment time. I drank water and read Cosmo until 4:30 when he came up to me after work.

We headed to the doctor's office and waited around until they called me. I did the usual peeing in a cup, getting weighed, and having my blood pressure taken. Everything looked normal and good. I then went into an exam room, but didn't have to disrobe this time. Unfortunately, the low resolution ultrasounds are only done for the first three months so I wasn't able to get one done this time. When Dr. Hill came in she used a doppler to try and listen to the baby's heartbeat. This time we were able to hear it. It was a swish swish sound and the doctor said it sounded good. It was so cool and amazing to hear our baby's heartbeat! We spoke with the doctor for a bit and it looks like everything is going well so far in the pregnancy. My next appointment is for my 20 week checkup and that same week I'll be going to a different doctor's office as well for my type 2 ulrasound. That's a higher resolution one that makes sure tha baby is doing well and can also tell us the gender for certain. Well, that is, if the baby cooperates. Because both appointments are the week Rob has jury duty, my Mom is going to try and come out that week (I hope it works out) so that she can see and hear her grandchild and so that if he has jury duty on one of my appointment dates I can get to my appointment. I can barely fit behind the wheel of a car now so there's no chance I'll be able to drive myself to my two appointments that week. Not sure what I'll do if she can't come out and if Rob's got jury duty.

After the appointment we headed to Buca for some Italian food and then came home. Today I'm trying to work out plans with my Mom. She said she can probably come out for the days of the appointments, but now I need to try and get ahold of my Dad (and you all know how not easy that is) to have him get tickets. We'll see what happens. Keep your fingers crossed for me that everything works out and my Mom can be out here. Not just to make sure I have transportation, but also to be able to see and hear her grandchild!

You scored as Faerie. Faerie: Aren't you a cute little flying person? Faeries are earth spirits. They live among each element completely hidden. They have cousins called Pixies. Pixies however, are very mischevious. They enjoy tormenting other creatures for fun. Little pranksters.. I hope you never meet one. Pixies have a bad reputation for finding a creature and clinging to them until death. Faeries can be somewhat close to a Pixie, but mostly they are loving, playful, and carry with them a child-like enthusiasm for life. Hide among the pedals of a Daisy, you are a Faerie.
