2005-10-26 3:22 PM Flu Shot Dilemma And Other Things Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Meh Read/Post Comments (3) I am going to scream. Once again I had my entry ready to go and once again I lost it when my web browser crashed on me. Gah! Last night Rob and I headed to Target. Last year around this time I had gotten him some Halloween themed PJ pants. One was a pair with spiders on it, the other was a pair with eyeballs on it. He seems to like them and wears them as around the house pants quite often. So, I wanted to pick him up some more. Looks like they either didn't get them in this year or we were too late because all they had in were Halloween boxers. Bleh. We did end up getting some baby stuff though. The baby department beckoned to us. We ended up getting some pacifiers, a Pooh outfit, a Tigger rattle, a pair of baby bunny slippers, and some receiving blankets. The baby department is like a magnet. After Target we headed across the way and had dinner at the Outback Steakhouse. Rob recently found a $50 gift certificate for them around the house, so we decided to use it. Unfortunately, by the end of the meal Rob wasn't feeling too good. We don't know if it was stress catching up with him, something wrong with the food, or him having a bad reaction to a flu shot he had gotten earlier that day, but he was definitely under the weather. On the way home from dinner we made a stop at the ATM and a stop at Starbucks. Rob had some green tea to see if it could settle his stomach. It didn't. We headed home and watched some TV in bed. Right now I have a bit of a dilemma. I need a flu shot due to the fact that I'm asthmatic and pregnant. If I don't get one, I won't be allowed to leave the house between mid-November and when the baby is born except for doctor's visits. I also won't be able to see anyone who hasn't had the flu shot and isn't 100% sure that they're healthy. If I get the flu and it goes to my lungs like it usually does there are no meds I can take for it. Which means hospital on respirator time which is not healthy for me or the baby. So, I need a flu shot. The problem is that my doctor isn't getting them in this year. There are plenty of clinics around giving them out, but most of them are on weekdays and I can no longer drive. So I can't get myself to one. If I can find one on a weekend that Rob can drive me to then I'm set. If not, I'm not sure what I'll do. Anyway, today's my birthday. I'm 31. Last year I got a new tattoo with Rob and Shannon, made a mall run with them, and had a birthday dinner at Dave and Busters. While that was an amazing birthday (probably my best ever thanks to both Rob and Shannon for the daytime stuff and to Rob, Shannon, Al, Berek, and Pita for the nighttime stuff), I decided to not do much this year. Last year I invited a lot of people (we're talking 15+) to the dinner. Not including Rob and myself, 4 came. And that was to my big 3-0! So, it didn't seem worth trying to set something up this year. Today I'm just doing my usual around the house stuff and laundry. Tonight Rob and I have plans to have a nice romantic dinner together. ----------
