2005-11-01 12:09 PM Halloween Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Content Read/Post Comments (0) It's the most wonderful time of the year... I absolutely love Halloween. It's by far (in my opinion) the best holiday. And while I can't wait to take my son trick-or-treating next year, this year was pretty fun. Not much happened during the day, but when Rob got home from work we put our costumes (gypsys) on and headed out to Hollywood. Traffic wasn't all that great, but we managed to avoid the worst of it by parking at Hollywood and Highland. We saw a lot of kids trick-or-treating at the mall. Now that really makes me want to move the hell away from here. I don't want to take my son trick-or-treating in a mall! Whatever happened to kids going door to door in their neighborhood? Sheesh. Anyway, we grabbed some dinner at Johnny Rockets and then headed across the street. We had a lot of time before the movie started so we stopped in the Disney soda fountain and got some ice cream. Then we hopped in line and saw the 9:30 showing of The Nightmare Before Christmas. Before the movie they showed some older Tim Burton shorts (Frankenweenie and Vincent). The movie was a blast and I'm glad I got to see it in the theatre again. The night was low key and fun. While it wasn't wild like the clubbing last year, I don't think my preggo body could handle much more than a movie. When the movie was over I wanted to see if there were any drunk dogs in the area (bacon wrapped hot dogs that the illegal street vendors sell... soooooo good), but there weren't. Apparently the police were cracking down on them left and right. *harumph* Rob and I made our way to the car and realized just how skeezy Hollywood is at night. Ew. We headed home and crashed. All in all a low key (but very fun) Halloween. I cannot wait until next year. I miss trick-or-treating and now I'll be able to do it with my son. Woot! ----------
