Friday I got to spend most of the day in the hospital's blood lab. Bleh. I brought my Sudoku puzzle book with me to keep me entertained. They also had a TV in the waiting room. At noon I had my fasting blood draw. The number was above the good range, but below the bad range and so on we went with the test (if it's in the bad range or higher the test can be stopped there). At 1:15 (after they got my first number back) I was given the drink and was able to down it in two minutes and not throw it up. I then had blood draws done at 2:15 (failed too high by 12 points), 3:15 (failed too high by 17 points), and at 4:15 (was actually a wee bit low). Failing two (which I did) means that I do have the pregnancy complication I was worried about.

After the test, I was a wreck. I felt like crap and it only got worse. I assumed my feeling like crap was from the amount of blood they took from me throughout the day. So, Rob and I went to Picanha for dinner. While the meat had me stumbling around a bit less, I was still a mess. Dizzy, disoriented, cold and hot and back again, hallucinating about spinal monkeys and gnomes dancing around burning trees, not making any sense (I was trying to relay something to Rob about the iPod connectors but ended up talking about cows and shiny things), and acting very drunk. Once we got home I downed some orange juice and got a lot better. I also then passed out for the next 14 hours.

Saturday I felt better. After sleeping in we headed down to Torrance to do a few things at Babies R Us. First, we stopped off at Third Planet and Starbucks. Then we headed to Babies R Us. We exchanged one of our pink items for a blue one and then went about registering. We got a good amount of registering done there, but need to tweak a few things that for some reason didn't scan in right. It took us a few hours to do, but was fun. Rob liked being the one to use the scanner. I just liked looking around at all of the cute baby stuff. Also, for some odd reason, our registry isn't showing up online. So, that's something else we'll have to look into. After registering at Babies R Us we went to dinner at Friday's and then headed home by driving up PCH for a little while. By the time we got home I was exhausted and just crashed.

On Sunday we headed out to LaVerne and were planning on registering at Kohl's. We even called the day before to make sure it was do-able and they said it was. When we got there, we were told a different story. They said they only did wedding registries. So, we asked if we could do one of those and then just register for baby stuff. They said they wouldn't let us do that. Huh??? Okay, fine then, if they don't want to actually sell their products then they can go fuck themselves. Sheesh, you would think a store would actually like the concept of being able to sell their merchandise. Fuck 'em. After that fiasco we headed to dinner at Golden China and then headed back to our area where we did a drug store run and a grocery store run. When we got back home we watched some Adult Swim and went to bed.

Today hasn't gone so well. Neither Rob nor myself has been able to get in touch with Dr. Hill, but he was able to talk to one of the other doctor's in her office about Friday's test. Things are looking bad. She feels that I do indeed have a huge pregnancy complication (one that's very bad for both myself and the baby). She referred us to a specialist, but the specialist is not only booked for the rest of the month, but also has hours that greatly conflict with my schedule. So, right now we're waiting to hear back from Dr. Hill about just how bad this is, if the appointment with the specialist can wait a month, and where we go from here. And things were going so well...
