2006-01-01 4:38 PM Welcome To 2006 Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Content Read/Post Comments (0) Yesterday Rob and I headed out in the rain (yuck) to the Target in Pacoima. Wow. Ghetto much? Anyway, it only took a few seconds to pick up the car seat they were "holding" for us. The reason the word holding is in quotes is because it wasn't being held behind the customer service desk. In fact, it was sitting out right next to the entrance of the store with a piece of paper that said "Robert" on it. We picked it up and bought it. They didn't even check the ID or ask if we were the people who asked for it to be held. *sigh* At least we got it. We have the receipt still to make sure everything is in one piece when we open up the box. On the way out of the store the scary thought of "we just bought a car seat for our son" hit us. *meeps* On the way back home we dropped off another bag of donations at a Goodwill stand. Cleaning up around here is making us get rid of a lot of things we don't need. Books we're putting in our apartment building's library. Clothes, toys, and shoes we're donating to various places. Usually Goodwill if the place is open. Otherwise we stick it in a DARE donation box. We then headed home and got ready to head out for dinner. We had 7pm reservations at La Fondue - which is by far my all time favorite restaurant. I'll miss that place when we move. Dinner went well except for one snafu. The waiter didn't notice that there was a napkin attached to the bottom of the fondue pot. We noticed it after I got a puff of smoke in my face (my eyes stung for the rest of the night) and when Rob saw something start on fire. We turned off the burner and called the waiter over. Once the charred napkin was removed everything went well. We even were able to hear the "Souls of the Children" cry out for cheese and sing Happy Birthday to someone in the next room. I cheated on my GD diet and actually had dessert, but oddly enough it didn't effect my numbers at all. Sweet. After dinner we headed home and chilled out around the house. We rang in the New Year in bed (our usual way) and then watched TV into the wee hours of the morning. It was nice to have a relaxing night around the house. Scary thought: We're having a baby next month! ----------
