Searching For A Car Seat

Yesterday was all about trying to find a car seat for Gabriel. In the morning we waited for the La Z Boy delivery. It came around 10am. Woot! I now have a comfy chair! It's a rocker/recliner and when I'm sitting in it is pretty much the only time my back and hips aren't hurting. I think on sleepless nights that I might actually even be able to sleep in it. We'll see. I am stubborn though and tend to stay in the bed even when I can't sleep just because Rob is there as well.

Later on we headed up to the Babies R Us in Calabasas. Neither Rob nor I had ever been up to that particular area before and we both thought it was adorable. We checked Babies R Us for a decent car seat, but couldn't find anything we liked for a decent price. I had seen one with my Mom on Wednesday at the Target in Burbank which had everything we wanted and was priced well so Rob and I decided that we would try and get that one (try being the optimal word here). We headed out of Babies R Us and decided to find some dinner.

We drove around the strip mall that Babies R Us was in just to see if anything looked interesting. We found a place called Cosmos Grill (or something like that) and decided to give it a shot. I'm glad we did. For a small place, they were quite yummy! We had an artichoke for an appetizer and Rob had pasta for his dinner and I had a burger for mine. I ate some fries but didn't eat about half the bun and my numbers were great last night.

After dinner we drove around the area a little bit and noticed a cute little cinema. That's definitely something we want to check out in the near future. There's also a Marmalade Cafe in the area. I was at the one in Malibu with Carrie for breakfast during bar review and it was amazingly yummy. Rob's never been to one, so we plan on going there and to a movie sometime soonish.

We then headed back to the Burbank area to make a Target run. I showed Rob the car seat I liked and he liked it as well. It has a five point harness and can not only be used as a rear facing car seat for a little one, but also as a regular car seat for a toddler *and* as a booster seat when he's older. All that and it's only $120. There's no way we're going to find a better deal on one. Unfortunately, it looks like a lot of other people felt the same way because it was sold out. So, we had customer service do a search and they let us know of all the possible Targets in the area which might have one in.

We headed home for the night and got some more cleaning done (the gaming bookshelf in the cat's bedroom) and finished up a side character that we started making up last night.

This morning Rob got up around when Target opens and called to find a Target (I believe the one he found is in Pacoima) that actually had the car seat we wanted in. They're holding it for us now and we'll be heading over there later this afternoon while we do some other errands as well. Right now I'm getting a few things done online and then it will be time to shower and get out of here.
