Third Anniversary And Why I Smell Like Spit Up

Yesterday rocked. Rob decided to stay home from work and spend our third anniversary at home with Gabriel and myself. Normally we go out to a nice dinner like fondue to celebrate our wedding anniversary, but with a newborn in the house that just wasn't going to happen. So, he decided to spend the day around here. Woot!

We spent the day hanging out around the house. Kat was supposed to stop by but things came up and she couldn't make it. Later in the day (after Gabriel's 4pm feeding) we all headed out. We made a run to a pet food store because we had just run out of cat food. Rob went into the store and Gabriel and I stayed in the car. We then headed to the Target over in Burbank. There were some items we needed to pick up. Unfortunately, they were out of a lot of things we were looking for including diapers. Ugh. From there we got a six pack of doughnuts at Krispy Kreme (it's so nice to be able to eat sugar and carbs again) and got some Olive Garden take out to bring home with us for our anniversary dinner (what constitues a special anniversary meal is so different when you have a child).

When we got home it was time for Gabriel's 7pm feeding so we took care of him and got around to eating our dinner when we had the time. When Gabriel was sleeping we watched some TV and gamed. When we wanted to get some sleep, Gabriel decided to wake up and fuss, but after cuddling him in the rocker for a bit I was able to get him to fall asleep.

Today I'm alone with Gabriel again and he's not making things so easy for me. He managed to not only wet through his diaper (thus also wetting his undershirt, outfit, blankets, and bassinet sheet), but also to make a nice huge poopy for me to clean up. I think I went through about five baby wipes or so. Damn that stuff is foul. And it looks like creamed spinach.

Amber is also trying to make life a bit more difficult for me. She spend a good part of the morning wandering from litterbox to litterbox complaining that they were dirty. Yes, I know it's time to change the litter out. That's why Rob's bringing home some clean litter tonight. However, to show her contempt I think she might have peed on the carpet. There's a big yellow stain that I didn't see in here earlier today. I'll have Rob check it out when I get home to see if it is dried pee or not. *sigh*

I've managed to learn something today. The smell of sour milk and baby poo just clings to a person. You can wash all you want and even try scented lotions after washing, but that smell just lingers. I smell like sour milk and baby poo. Before the baby I smelled like perfume. Now I smell like sour milk and baby poo. Joy. Oh, and breast milk, formula, and spit up all stain really badly no matter how you wash and stain stick your clothes.
