2006-04-17 11:50 AM Easter Fish Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Happy Read/Post Comments (0) Yesterday was fantastic. Donna and Ellen came over to our apartment while the parents headed over to church. Rob and I got up when they got there and got ready. When the parents came back to our place from church we all headed out to the aquarium in Long Beach. We gave Rob's Dad directions down there, but for the most part he was going to follow us. In our car there was Rob, myself, Gabriel, and Donna. In the other car were Rob's parents and Ellen. They followed us for awhile but we were surprised when they passed us on the freeway. We got a bit worried about them getting lost on the way there (especially since Rob and I got lost the first few times we went there), but they didn't. We found their car again near the parking lot and met up after parking. I had an absoulte blast at the aquarium and I really hope that the in-laws did as well. It was great to be able to spend Easter with them and I loved the fact that Gabriel got to have his first Easter with that side of his family. Not only did I just like being at the aquarium (most of you know my fish obsession), but I also loved being able to spend time with the Rossels. I don't get to see them all that much, so I cherish what time I do get to spend with them. What can I say, I really love Rob's family. They're just fun to be around. When we got to the aquarium we had lunch in their restaurant and then looked at the fish. Gabriel seemed to really like it when I held him up to the tanks. He stared at the fishies in awe. He also tried to talk to the puffins and cried when I took him away from the tank. He had a giggle fit in the lorikeet area when one landed on Rob's hand and Rob showed it to him. He also seemed to like the sharks, or what he could see of them. People are so rude and after 20 minutes of trying to get Gabriel close enough to the shark tank so that he could see them we gave up. There were people just sitting there not even looking at the sharks and they would't move just for a minute when we asked if we could get Gabriel close enough to see for a few seconds. Before we left I picked up a few things for Gabriel in the gift shop. I got him a stuffed sea horse, a stuffed leafy sea horse, an ABC penguin book, and an ABC fish book. After we headed out of the aquarium Rob's family went back to their hotel and Rob, Gabriel, and I headed back to our apartment. We washed up the baby laundry, ordered in some Italian food from Louise's, and went to sleep. So far today Gabriel has been pretty good (I hope I'm not jinxing myself by saying that). He and I took a nap in the morning and he only had one crying fit. Rob is at work and his family is heading to Venice beach for the day. Depending on when they get back to the area, I might have some help with Gabriel before Rob gets home from work. If I do, cool. It also means I get to spend more time with the family and that rocks. If not, I understand. They don't get out this way too often so I want them to have fun while they're here. ----------
