2006-07-05 12:22 PM Fourth Of July Weekend Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Content Read/Post Comments (0) Saturday Rob and I spent the day around the house with Gabriel and decided to head out to Long John Silver's for dinner. Fish and chips just happened to sound really good that night. On the way there we saw a bit of an odd sight. You know those little stick figure families people put on the backs of their cars? It shows a Mom, a Dad, and some kids and has their names written under them? Well, we saw the weirdest one ever. There were stick figures of a man, a woman, and a dog. Under the man it said "Shovel". Under the woman it said "Stinky". And under the dog is said "Weeenus". We had a nice long laugh about that. Rob thought it could be a Sabbat pack with a Malkavian, a Nosferatu, and a ghouled Chihuahua that people think is a Gangrel. I don't know what scared me more, the fact that he thought of that or the Sabbat reference. Heh. If you have no idea what the Sabbat is don't worry, it a gamer thing. Anyway, the fish and chips were yummy and we headed to Lollicup to grab some Boba milk teas before heading back home. Sunday we lazed around the house and had fun with Gabriel. I needed to take my car out so we made a run to the ATM and brought some drive through home for dinner. We spent some time gaming and just enjoyed having a lazy day around here. Monday we spent the day in and went out to Golden China for dinner. Had a bit of a funny (for me) and embarassing (for Rob) moment when Rob broke their toliet and the owner's wife announced it very loudly to me and the rest of the restaurant. Hrm, I think I know where Gabriel gets his Poopchuck propensities from now. After dinner we grabbed Boba and then headed to The Game Zone. They were having a huge sale so I picked up a gold dragon and a dragon tarot deck. We then headed back home. Tuesday we headed down to the Torrence area. Third Planet was having a Fourth of July sale so we stopped by there and picked up soem D&D minis. We also stopped in Babies R Us to get Gabriel some new socks (his current ones are getting too small) and I also picked him up a stuffed lion with soft rubber paws for him to chew on. We made a stop at Carter's and I bought some clothing for Gabriel in the next size up (9 months). He's still fitting fine into his 3-6 and 6 month clothing, but it doesn't hurt to start buying for the next size up. We also made a run to Target (they have a really nice one down there) to pick up some basic things we needed. We took a break in the Starbucks they had in there to get some Chai and to feed Gabriel. He was not happy with his forumla and kept staring at our Chai's and making sucky faces. We made record time getting home (a half hour) and spent the night at home. The five day weekend went by all too fast and now it's back to the usual grind. Rob is at work and probably buried under paperwork right now. I'm taking care of the Poopchuck and trying to get as much laundry done as possible. While having a five day weekend rocked, I am so far behind on the laundry that it's scary. There's no way I'm getting it all done today. ----------
