2006-08-02 10:41 AM Little Guy On The Go Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Exhausted Read/Post Comments (2) Every night Gabriel gets a good amount of tummy time. He tries to crawl, but just isn't strong enough for it. Sometimes he gets frustrated and cries. Sometimes he tries until he's out of breath and we pick him up and give him cuddles for trying. And sometimes he just rolls to where he wants to go (sideways). Last night was the first time he was able to move himself forward. He's not crawling per se, but he's learning how to move. He makes himself into an upside down v shape with his butt in the air and then pushes his body forward with his legs. He's like a little worm. While it's not your usual crawling, this is the first time he's been able to make any forward motion. It's only a matter of time (and probably not that long of a time knowing him) before he goes from the v shape worm move to an actual crawl. Gabriel is also making raspberry noises like crazy. When I make them back to him he cracks up laughing and does it some more. Damn that boy is cute. As a side note, has anyone ever done the sign language thing with their baby? I read an article on CNN saying that there's a new trend to teach a baby some sign language so that they can tell you what they need before they're able to talk. This seems interesting and I wouldn't mind looking into it further for Gabriel, but I've never met anyone who has done it. Last night Rob and I stayed in and he brought some sandwiches home for dinner. We watched Miami Ink and some of Big Brother before bathing Gabriel and passing out. Gabriel had some sleep issues so neither Rob nor myself got anywhere close to the sleep we needed. Thank god for caffeine. ----------
