Gabriel Just Won't Sleep

Yesterday I had a whole lot of laundry to get done. I still have a lot more to get done. Last night Rob and I stayed in. We watched the finale of Hell's Kitchen and cooked Steak Ummm sandwiches for dinner.

Overnight last night was a total nightmare. Gabriel refused to sleep. This resulted in both Rob and I maybe getting an hour, total, of sleep. By the time the alarm went off this morning I had a super bad headache and my stomach was having some serious issues and Rob was (quite literally) crying. Gabriel just will not sleep anymore. He was sleeping through the night and it was so nice. Then he started waking up during the night and now he's just not going to sleep. The doctor suggested we put his crib in the living room, shut our door, and just let him cry. I refuse to do this. I think that's just mean to do to him, I'm not going to let him spend the night crying with no one around. What if he really needs something? We also can't feasably do so because we're in an apartment and we would soon have the guard coming to find out why we have an unattended screaming baby in our living room. We do need to find something to get him to go to sleep though. I don't know how many more nights of this we can take.

To make matters worse, there is something very wrong with one of my fingers (second finger on my right hand). A few days ago it started hurting. I thought it was because of a hang nail or something like that. Then a little blister developed next to the nail. Now the whole area next to the nail is green! I'm pretty sure my finger is not supposed to be turning green. The green is spreading and my finger hurts like hell. Not much I can do about it though so I'm just hoping it goes away on its own.

I've had some rough days and nights with Gabriel and so I had a bout of internet retail therapy. I bought myself a present from The Vermont Teddy Bear Company. I love bears and found an adorable and super cool one. I decided what the hell, I'm getting myself a bear! It arrived yesterday and I was worried at first because the box it came in was open and mangled. UPS is sucking up a storm and a lot of the recent packages we have gotten through them have been opened and it looks like an elephant sat on the box. At least what has been in the packages has been fine. Anyway, I got an alien bear. It looks like a cute white bear with blue eyes, but the face is a mask that can come off and there's an alien face underneath. Click here to see my bear.

So yeah, the good recently has been the arrival of my adorable alien bear which now resides on my bed. The bad has been my weird painful green finger and the fact that Gabriel just won't sleep. I'm sleep depped beyond belief and I have a feeling Rob is even worse off that I am. We need to find a way to get this kid back to sleeping through the night or he's going to have two very crazy parents. So, a question to all of you parents out there... have you ever had this problem? If so, how did you get your child to start sleeping through the night again? Any input will be appreciated.
