2006-10-05 11:20 AM Cruising Baby Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Tired Read/Post Comments (2) I'm missing my Mom. It was nice when Rob was home last night (we stayed in and watched America's Top Model and even though we started getting Gabriel ready for bed at 9pm, we still weren't able to climb into bed until after midnight) but now that he's at work again I'm feeling lonely. I'm missing my Mom and I wish Rob were home from work. Oh well, at least he'll be here again tonight. We're still waiting for confirmation from his boss that he can get some vacation time at the end of the month. I need to get out of LA for a little bit for sanity reasons, and we really need to get out there to find a place to live if we're going to meet our goal of moving before the end of the year. Even if neither of us has a job out there, we think we should still move. It will be a lot easier for both of us to job hunt (and for me to prep for and take the Wisconsin bar) when we're out there and not trying to do this from 3000 miles away. Anyway, I'm a bit on the lonely side and wish my Mom was still here. At least Gabriel has calmed down a bit. He was not at all happy yesterday that his Grandma wasn't here anymore. When my Mom was out here Gabriel started cruising. He'll hold onto something, pull himself up to standing, and actually walk a little bit (while holding on to something) before falling on his bottom. Now I know why baby butts are so soft... it's padding for when they fall on it! He's going to be walking soon and that scares the hell out of me. We're still not having much luck with solid foods. He'll eat his rice cereal most of the time and occasionally have some bananas, but that's about it. We've tried most first foods and even some second foods (since he's ready for those as well) and he just doesn't seem to like solids. *sigh* At least he's of the age where he still should be getting most of his nutrition from the bottle. But I worry about when he gets older and we need to wean him onto solid food. We've got a picky eater here who really does not like baby mush. Oy. ----------
