Gabriel has taken to babbling. One minute he's cooing, and the next minute he's babbling. Yesterday morning he started with gaga and just kept saying gagagagagagagaga. Then last night it switched to dada and he kept saying dadadadadadadada. At one point he looked at Rob and said dada. Now, I don't know if he just said "Dada" or if he was just babbling at Rob. How do you know when your child says their first word and what counts as his first word? Would his first word be "Ning" (which he started saying a very long time ago as his "I want" word), or would it be Iggy (which he named one of his toys awhile back), or would it be the "Maaaaaa-ma" I thought I heard him say once when he was crying, or would it be the "Dada" from yesterday even though he was saying whole strings of dadadadadadadada? Or would his first word be a Mama or Dada that he says while looking at us and *knowing* that he's saying our "name"? I know there are several experienced Mothers out there who read this. How do you determine what a baby's first word is?

Last night we headed out. We made an ATM run, did a drug store run for things I'll be needed when we head on vacation (so excited about that), and grabbed some dinner at Del Taco to bring home (that was a bad idea). We chilled out with Gabriel and watched Survivor once we were home and neither of us felt very good after eating the Del.

Today I have more of our clothing loads to get done. Oy. The laundry really never ends around here. I might try and get some of Gabriel's laundry done as well if I have the time. Tonight Berek and Pita should be coming over for some D&D.
