2006-11-15 10:19 AM Housework, Doctor's Call, And A Cat Problem Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Busy Read/Post Comments (9) Yesterday I once again met my laundry goal of our bedding and Gabriel's bedding. Today I'd like to get Gabriel's clothing done and maybe wash up a few of his crusty stuffed animals. At some point this week I need to get in contact with my Dad about the move (or, rather, hope he gets in contact with me), figure out what the hell we're doing for Thanksgiving and place any orders needed, and figure out how to work putting the gas and electric in our new apartment over to our names. That part is easy, the hard part is figuring out how to work the billing when we're not yet living there. Last night we stayed in and made turkey burgers with cheese fries for dinner. We gamed and had Dancing With The Stars on in the background. I won't be able to watch the results show tonight, so if someone could drop me a comment and let me know who the winner is I'd appreciate it. I'm rooting for the football player dude (I think his name is Emmet Smith?). Last night we also had our first night time call to our pediatrician. Gabriel is still having on and off diarrhea and it's still burning his little diapered area very badly. During a diaper change last night Rob noticed that it had gotten so raw that there was a bleeding area right on the underside of his testicles. The doctor got back to us and said it's normal for bad diaper rash and to keep slathering on the Desitin and to be careful not to wipe it all off during a diaper change because it tends to stick on there well and rubbing it all off can also cause some abrasion. We now know that we have to get rid of Amber before moving (though the sooner the better). Gabriel is allergic to her and is too young to be on medications for it. When she gets near him he starts to wheeze and as much as I love Amber, Gabriel needs to come first. I have one friend who is checking to see if her Aunt or someone her Aunt knows can take Amber in (thank you), but if not, I'm not sure what we're going to do. The rescue places we've called want $500 and up to take her and with a baby and a cross country move we can't spend that kind of money. However, we do have cat supplies (scratching post, cat tree, cat bed, etc.) that we could give to whoever takes her if they want them. She's five years old, spayed, but does still have her claws (though she has never scratched our furniture at all... only her scratching post or the cat tree). She's pretty overweight, but in very good health and has no health problems. We'd be willing to pay for a vet check up and her yearly shots before someone takes her in. She's also super smart and likes to try to "talk" to people. I can send pictures to anyone who is interested. She's an orange and white tabby. All in all she's a great cat, but like I said before, Gabriel needs to come first. So, if anyone can help out or knows of anyone who can take in a cat, please let me know! If we haven't found a place for her before our move I have no idea what we're going to do. ----------
Your film will be 61% romantic, 34% comedy, 27% complex plot, and a $ 30 million budget. Relatively inexperienced (The Virgin Suicides, Lost In Translation) as a director, but already highly respected and connected -- her dad, Francis, directed all The Godfather movies and Apocolypse Now. Sofia's good at making the romantic drama that is your life with poignant sullen moments of introspection. Who didn't have at least a lump in the throat at the end of Lost In Translation? She's already won one Academy Award for her writing, now she'll be the first woman to receive one for directing -- YOUR FILM!
