Why is it that whenever I have to get up in the morning, I can't sleep? I have to get up tomorrow morning so that we can hit the road at a decent time tomorrow and get to my Mom's house before it gets dark outside. So, of course, I can't fall asleep. It's currently 3:45am and I've been futzing around on the computer for a few hours now and I have a feeling I'll be on for awhile longer. Rob's asleep, Gabriel's asleep, and even Sydney is asleep. I'm wide awake and know that I'll be exhausted tomorrow. So, I might as well take this time to post about some things I've been meaning to post about recently, but just keep forgetting.

Gabriel has progressed beyond mere walking. It's not advanced enough that he's eleven months old and has been walking (he first started when he was nine months) but now he is also running. That's right, running. He can get a head of steam on him and get around the house super fast. He also has a thing for the cat food and if we don't watch him every second he'll grab Sydney's food bowl and cat crunchies will end up everywhere. At least he only likes to play with them and spread them around. It could be worse, he could want to eat them.

Speaking of which, we're having some problems with him on the food front. He hates most baby food and won't eat it. He's also not too fond of bottles anymore. He'll still drink them, but not as much as we'd like. He loves Cheerios and puffs, but those alone are not enough to meet his nutritional needs. Other solid food he can eat, but he throws it up soon after. *sigh* We need to get this kid to eat. I was watching the movie A Christmas Story over the holidays and heard a quote... "every family has a kid who won't eat" and thought to myself yup, that's Gabriel.

I also forgot to mention that I'm tickled pink that the Bears are playing in the Superbowl this year. No matter where I live, I'll always root for my Chicago teams. I'll most definitely be watching the game. Go Bears! Shouldn't say that too loudly around here though, this is Packers territory.

So yeah, tomorrow we head to my Mom's place and Friday is her b-day. Drop her an e-mail or give her a call and wish her a happy one.

Speaking of birthdays... I don't know if I'll be on here on the 27th or not. Just in case I'm not I'd like to wish a happy birthday to a certain friend who doesn't like others knowing her b-day or celebrating it. I know it. Mwuhahaha. So happy b-day hon! You know who you are!

You Are What You Are

Why can't you understand that the accomplishments of your state's sports teams have absolutely nothing to do with you? No matter whether your favorite team wins or loses, you're still a loser.
