Day One: Friday

I didn't get any sleep at all on Thursday night and when the alarm went off at 5:30am I thought I'd die. I somehow managed to get my ass into the shower and that made a world of difference. I don't know why, but it helped to wake me up and get me moving. Rob, Gabriel, and I got ready and we were out the door and in the car at 7:30am.

We got to the airport around 8:15 and found a decent spot in the long term parking area. When then headed into the airport and check in was a breeze. We grabbed some breakfast at Burger King, went through security, and waited for our plane at the gate. There was a delay due to winds at LaGuardia so our plane took off late. The flight was overall pretty nice. The planes that they use from there Milwaukee to New York runs are the really nice ones where all the seats are big leather first class seats. It's actually a comfy flight and in general isn't bad because it only take about an hour and a half to two hours to get there. However, our flight took a bit longer because not only were we delayed getting off of the ground, but we were put into a holding pattern and just circled around for about a half an hour before we were allowed to land.

When we got into the airport Rob's Dad met us at the baggage area. Our bag came in just fine and we got in the car and he was nice enough to drive us to our hotel. We checked in, got settled in with the baby, and just relaxed for awhile because we were all tired and ass kicked from the plane ride.

Later on we were meeting up with the whole family at a local restaurant. We were a bit late showing up because our car service was late, but it didn't matter because when we got there the family was still waiting for a table. The restaurant was crowded and hot so I went outside for a bit to cool off and Donna came out with me and we just talked for a bit. Eventually we got our table. Dinner was excellent and it was great to be able to spend time with the family. Everyone was there Mom, Dad, Ellen, Donna, and even John drove in. Gabriel was a bit fussy, but we found out that he likes Italian food.

After dinner we headed out because Gabriel was overtired and fussy. John gave us (and Donna) a ride. John found out that making "mwah" kissing noises at Gabriel would send him into hysterical laughing fits. We made a quick pit stop at a local pool hall so that Rob and John could run in and show the baby off to some of John's friends (Donna and I stayed in the car) and then we headed back to the hotel for the night.
