2007-02-25 6:19 PM Day Two: Hanging With The Family Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Tired Read/Post Comments (0) Day Two: Saturday Saturday morning we slept in until 10am. All three of us were exhausted and ass kicked. Even Gabriel slept through the night. Once we were up and ready we called a car service and headed over to the family abode. When we got there Rob's Dad met us outside and we took Gabriel to a few places nearby so that people could meet Gabriel. We then headed to the house and chilled out there. It was nice just hanging out around the house with the family. We don't get to spend near enough time with them and it was great to just kick around the house for the day with everyone there. A few times I went on the balcony to cool off (you all know I'm a penguin) and hung out there with various people at various times. Gabriel got a metric ass ton of presents for his birthday (I love how spoiled this kid is) and after getting a wee bit overwhelmed he passed out and took a nice long nap. Mom and Dad brought food in from a local pizzaria (gotta love NY pizza) and we chowed down on that. When Gabriel woke up we had an ice cream cake and sang Happy Birthday to him. I fed him some of the vanilla ice cream from the cake and he really seemed to like it. He'd get a weird face because of the cold, and then realized that he also really liked the taste. It was too cute. After dinner and the cake we just let Gabriel wander around and play a bit. He kept following John around. At one point Ellen's boyfriend Brian stopped by and we got to meet him. Interesting fellow. Oh, and apparently Rob's always had a thing for "knobs". Hrm... you can learn some interesting things from someone's parents. *giggles* Around 8pm we headed out from the house and back to the hotel. John gave us a ride and then headed back to his place. We chilled out in the hotel for awhile and then Donna and her boyfriend Matt stopped by. We just hung out and talked for a bit. I have to say... I approve. Matt is super cool and he really seems to treat Donna right (which is a good thing because I consider her a sister and would have to kick his ass if he ever hurt her). When Donna and Matt headed out Rob tried to call Midwest Airlines to check on our flight. We had heard about a blizzard hitting Milwaukee and wanted to see what was going on, but after an hour of being on hold he gave up and we headed to bed. ----------
