2008-01-08 12:54 PM Gabriel's Napping, So I'm Posting Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Tired Read/Post Comments (1) As the title says, Gabriel's napping, so I'm posting. His nap is one of the few times I have to do much of anything anymore. Yesterday was the day from hell. Besides the things I posted about, Gabriel also learned to take his diaper off while still wearing his pants (that takes talent) and part of our closet broke. By the time Rob got home last night I was just about ready to collapse. We gamed last night and that's always a nice stress reliever. I managed to fall asleep last night with no problems. In fact, I think I actually fell asleep before Rob did! Granted, I still only got six hours, but that's better than nothing. I attribute the sleep to having our window open. It was nice out yesterday (in the high 50's and raining) and so we were able to have our window open while we slept. That's not usually possible. Either it's way too cold, or when the weather is nice we can't open it because there's a wasp nest right above the window outside and we don't want any coming into the apartment. It's amazing how much better I sleep with some fresh air and the amazing scent of clean rain. However, I'm still fairly tired because my body can't deal well with only six hours. It usually need 8-9 hours of sleep, bare minimum. I've been dozing off while doing things all day long. I've managed to be somewhat productive while watching Gabriel. That is a task in and of itself. I'm working on getting three loads of laundry done and dinner is cooking in the crock pot. Tonight I'm making a sausage and bean soup. Last night's fare of ham and wild rice soup turned out really good, but next time we need to not put the almonds in the recipe, neither of us liked them in there. Rob called the apartment managers last night to let them know about the broken closet. One of the bars that holds the clothes had one of the ends disattach. Some stuff fell off of the top shelf, hit the bar, and pulled it out of the wall in one spot. Last time (back in LA) it was my closet that completely fell. This time it's Rob's side of the closet. G said that she would come over this morning to take a look at it and then head over to the hardware store to get whatever was needed to fix it. It's not supposed to be fixed today, but she said she would be here at 9am to see what was wrong with it and what parts needed to be picked up. It's currently 1pm and there's been no sign of her. *sigh* It's a good thing I'm not going anywhere today. It's raining again out today. Since I don't have to head out in it at all, I rather like it. The rain and the fog are pretty and there's just something about the scent that comes along with rain. It's very peaceful ----------
