2008-02-18 8:55 AM Gabriel Is 2 Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Tired Read/Post Comments (9) Today is my baby boy's birthday. Though at 2 years old, I don't think he's a baby anymore. Where did my baby go? I'm now the mother of a 2 year old. Time really flies. Yesterday the weather was crappy. It rained early on and then later the temperature dropped so all of the rain and puddles it made turned to ice. Luckily, we headed out on errands early in the day when it was just rain. We picked up Gabriel's birthday cake from the cake shop and then made a quick grocery store shop to grab some food for dinner. We decided to cook healthy pasta. We used whole grain pasta instead of the regular kind and used ground turkey and not ground beef in Rob's homemade sauce. It turned out super yummy and I really like the whole grain wheat pasta much better than regular pasta. We didn't have anything much to do in the afternoon, so we watched two DVDs. We watched Dungeons and Dragons and Dungeons and Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God. The first one was really sub-par. The second one was actually pretty good. At night we watched Big Brother and the premiere of Dexter. I know, Dexter has been on Showtime for awhile now and CBS is just re-airing it. However, we don't get Showtime so it's a new show to us. I really liked it a lot. This morning I brought out Gabriel's black Rody Pony and Rob and I sang Happy Birthday to him. We'll be doing more presents and the cake tonight. My Mom is going to try and come out today, weather permitting. I really hope she makes it out here because she and Gabriel are so close and it would be nice to have her here on his b-day. However, it is snowing out at the moment so I don't know if it's going to happen. I'll keep my fingers crossed that she comes out here, but I do understand if she doesn't. Today I'm going to be cooking a pinto bean and ham hock dish in the crock pot. I don't know how it will turn out, but it sounds good. I also have some laundry that I need to get done at some point. Oh, do you remember how Rob used to say the weirdest things when he was asleep? It's been a few years, but he's started doing it again. The other night when we were going to sleep I told Rob that we needed to look at the preschool at the B Academy and see if there was a waiting list so that Gabriel could get in when he was three. The conversation just got weird after that:
Apparently, he remembers hearing himself say that, but doesn't remember saying it. He is so weird. ----------
