Gabriel's Birthday

Gabriel's birthday went very well. He got a bunch of Yo Gabba Gabba clothes (some t-shirts and a Brobee hoodie), a black Rody Pony, a Brobee doll, a Mickey Mouse doll, a Mickey Mouse car thing that talks, some Mickey Mouse counting cards, a Mickey Mouse romper, some Handy Manny shape cards, a few outfits and cash from my Dad, a bunch of clothes from the in-laws, and a Wonder Pets cape that my Mom made for him.

My Mom did get out here yesterday despite the bad weather. The drive took her over 4 hours and she said it was bad. There were some areas where she had to go around 30. Lots of ice on the roads, but she made it out here just fine, albiet frazled.

Thanks to everyone who wished the Poopchuck a happy birthday!

The ham hocks and beans that I made for dinner turned out great last night. It was so good that my Mom got the recipe from me. Tonight I'm making a chicken and rice casserole.

Gabriel's birthday cake was a chocolate cake with white frosting. I think the cake lady got things mixed up because we actually ordered a white cake with chocolate frosting. But in the end it didn't matter because it was excellent. I usually hate chocolate cake, but this was really good. It made all the difference in the world to get the cake from a professional cake place. It said "Happy 2nd Birthday Gabriel" on it and had a giraffe drawn onto it.

Gabriel was in one of his non-eating moods yesterday, so he didn't want even a bite of his cake. We have a good amount left over, so hopefully he'll eat some tonight after dinner. He's in a eating mood today.

Holy crap, my son is 2, how the hell did that happen???
