He can read numbers (even out of order, he can tell me what number I'm showing him). He can say most of the alphabet. He can also read letters. Once again, he can even tell me what a letter is if it's out of order. From what I've been able to gather, being able to identify numbers and letters by looking at them is the first step to reading. My two year old is starting to read! Good lord, this is advanced. I'm so impressed with my baby boy. He'll probably be reading before he's potty trained. He can already read alphabet and numbers books on his own. Wow. Oh, and apparently I'm Pablo. The penguin from the Backyardigans. Every time he seems Pablo (on TV or on his wall) he points to it and says "mama". No matter how often we tell him it's Pablo, he disagrees and claims it's mama. He'll even walk up to the TV when the Backyardigans is on, point to Pablo, and say mama. He also does this all the time when he's in his room because it's decorated with Backyardigans. My Mom has two theories on this. One is that he keeps hearing people call me a penguin and therefore relates me to Pablo since Pablo is a penguin. The other is that he has an odd sense of humor. I think it might be a combination of the two, especially since he can get us to laugh when he does this. Apparently my son thinks I'm a neurotic penguin. On to another subject... I hate taxes. We owe this year because nothing was pulled out of our income. We owe over $4,000! Ouch! That's going to take a bite out of our finances. Something weird is going on with my e-mail. I'm getting a ton (at least 40) "returned messages" a day. They're spam messages that are being returned to me as if I sent them out with nondeliverable addressees. I'm not sending out spam, so why should I be getting these things returned to me??? Great. Gabriel just learned how to turn off the computer while I'm using it. Bleh. Yesterday (Sunday) we spent the day in. I watched the movie Tarantula on Svengoolie and then we went out to grab foodage for dinner. Today I'm cooking up Lisa's chicken recipe for dinner and getting the towels laundered up. Looks like Spring has finally come to Wisconsin. We're getting rain instead of snow today. ----------
