We don't get to do that much, so when we do it's a special treat for the both of us. The last time I had fondue (my favorite food) was when I was pregnant. So, we decided to check out a local fondue restaurant. Loved it!!! Oh my god, it was so good! We have to do that again! I was in yummy fondue heaven! When we got back home last night, Rob bathed the Poopchuck and then we watched the ending of Hell's Kitchen. Anyone know why someone quit and who it was that quit? We then watched our new DVD of Cloverfield. My Mom really seemed to like it. This morning I had an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon about my knee. I got some possibly good news and some bad news. First the good. There's a possibility I tore one of my ligaments (if so, it's the one between your knee bones), however, I also might be having the pain and movement problems because of swelling. It it's still swollen in there, it could be giving me the same symptoms of a tear. So, I'm on an anti-inflammatory medication for the next two weeks. If the pain goes away and I can move better, then it was inflammation. If not, then I'll need an MRI on the knee. Also, the pain when touching it is normal and will probably last for months because of the fracture. The good part is that it might simply just be inflammation, which means no surgery. Now, the bad. I have nerve damage. This accounts for the knee buckling, the sharp shooting pains up and down my leg, and the numbness and tingling between my knee and toes. It might be permanent. Depends on how my nerves heal. It's not encouraging that 2 years after my c-section I still have no feeling between my belly button and the top of my public bone. That means that this nerve damage in my knee might be permanent. It's bad enough that I no longer have a reflex in my knee. If it's permanent, then I'll need a cane for longer walks for the rest of my life. He said it looked like when I fell my kneecap popped out of socket (normal for me) and either cut into or severed a nerve. Surgery wouldn't help. Here's hoping my knee nerve heals better than my stomach ones! During my appointment my Mom took Gabriel to McDonald's for breakfast. She came by to pick me up only a few minutes after I got out. Talk about great timing. After my doctor's appointment, we made a run to Best Buy. Our remote control died last night and I needed to pick up a new one. We then drove by a few houses my Mom likes and then went to the drug store to get my anti-inflammatory medication. We grabbed lunch and some iced chais and then headed to see the house in Wauwatosa where my Mom lived as a kid. Nice neighborhood. We then grabbed some ice cream at a local Baskin Robbins (the only one anywhere near here) and came back to the apartment. Shortly after getting back, my Mom headed out. She's going to stop off to spend some time with my Nana and then head back home. I miss her already and Gabriel is very unhappy that she left. It's been a very busy week so far. If you're waiting to hear back from me via e-mail, I'll try to start tackling those tomorrow. ----------
