2008-05-21 10:39 AM Little Mimic Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Tired Read/Post Comments (1) First of all, I wanted to thank all of you who have responded so far to yesterday's entry. I appreciate it and it's interesting to see myself from other people's perspectives. So far, I don't think anyone is wrong and yes, I will admit it, I am indeed a spaz. I changed up my journal again. New dragon pic, new color, new front page pic, and new song and teddy bear. This time I've chosen to go with Roisin Murphy's "Night of the Dancing Flame". Those of you who watch So You Think You Can Dance might recognize it from the amazing angel/devil dance last season. Gabriel has a fascination with the potty. This is good because maybe it means he'll be willing to make pee-pee on the potty soon (I can only wish) and this is bad because it also means he has to come to the bathroom with me every single time I go (he likes to say bye-bye as the toilet flushes). Well, this morning he was in the bathroom with me an he was mimicing everything I did. I took this as an opportunity to say a word and point to an object. This kid picked up on everything. The cutest was when I got him to point to me and say "mama" and then to point to himself and say "baby gabriel". Being a mother is absolutely amazing. Oh, and of course, even after the potty, he was mimicing me. He did this for a good hour or so. I loved it because I was able to hold his attention, teach him new words, and get him to parrot everything back to me. Another cute thing - we have a fish toilet cover on one of our toilets and a duck toilet cover on the other. He likes to run back and forth between the two bathrooms and say "fish!" and then "duck!". I told him if he uses his little potty, that he can graduate to using the fish and duck potties. He thought that was cool. ----------
