Ooooh, I itch all over. Apparently even when it's cloudy out for most of the day, I still need sunblock if I'm going to be outside. I have some slight sunburn and sun poisoning from being outside all afternoon.

Rob had a half day of work today. So, for the morning I was at home with Gabriel (and did some laundry) and when he got home we all headed out. We did some quick errands (bank and post office) and then went to the zoo.

There were a lot more people there today than there was at our visit back in November. Also, we lucked out in getting there around 1pm, when all of the field trip school children were leaving (the parking lot was jam packed with school busses).

Our first stop was to get some lunch, then we went into the gift shop where Gabriel picked out a stuffed lemur with huge eyes. We then went around to see the animals.

Gabriel didn't seem to like the monkey house too much. There was a group of annoying teens there and one creepy baboon. The things eyes looked human and its face was a mask of hatred and disgust. You just knew that it would eat your face off if it could. I'm going to have nightmares about that thing.

The it was on to the fish and reptile house. Yay! Snakes! While there Rob let Gabriel run around a bit while I took a rest for my knee. While there I met a nice woman named Tiffany. She was there with her husband and son and we really hit it off and seemed to have a lot in common (including difficult labors with emergency c-sections and only wanting one kid). We exchanged e-mails. Hopefully, this might turn into a friendship. It would be nice if we could make some friends around here, especially with kids.

Then we went to the nocturnal animals house. That's my favorite place in the zoo. I love the bats and the sugar gliders. Bush babies are freakin' weird. Gabriel spent the time flirting with a girl about his age.

After that we checked out the polar bear, giraffes, cat house, and farm area. We let Gabriel play with other kids on a toddler playset and then it was time to head out.

Right now, I'm exhausted. Not so much from the zoo, but from the fact that I haven't been getting good sleep recently. My head is also killing me and my migraine pills aren't doing a damn thing to help. When Gabriel goes to sleep, I'm going to pass out. Especially because I need to get up early tomorrow.
