Did I mention in my last entry that I made sure to wear all blue when I went to vote? There's no prohibition against wearing certain colors to the polls, and so I was decked out in all blue. I wasn't the only one with that idea. There were men with red ties on as well.

My state went to Obama (yay, I still live in a blue state). My county did not. In fact, it went HEAVILY McCain. *grumbles* I realized something when voting yesterday, most Republicans (including our District Attorney and our House representative) were running uncontested. If I go into politics in this county as a Democrat, I'm in trouble.

All in all, I'm very pleased with the election results. The Dems now have the presdency, control of the Senate, and control of the House. The only thing better would have been if the Dems had gotten to 61 in the Senate. Fox news played that up last night. That because the Dems didn't get to 61, this was a "win" for the Republicans. They're delusional over there.

I'm not as excited about Obama winning as I was for Clinton or I would have been for Gore or Kerry, but I am happy he won. I'm not on the Obama bandwagon, but he did get my vote. Hopefully, he'll turn out to be as good of a leader as his camp thinks he is. At the very least, just having him as our figurehead should improve our country's reputation. Hell, I doubt it can tarnish it any further. Right now we're hated by many and a joke to most. Hopefully, he can fix that.

It's a breath of fresh air to see that racial barrier finally broken. Now, a parent can tell their child that they CAN be anything they want to - even the president. Hopefully we can break the gender barrier as well down the road.

I'd have wet my pants had it been an Obama/Clinton ticket. Seriously.

Anyone know what happened with California's Prop 8?
