They're energy suckers and not that safe. Since we rarely go into the loft, we're fine using one up there still. So, yesterday was spent searching for lamps. Our first stop was at a lamp store. They were having a tent sale which we checked out. While the prices were amazing, the selection was not and they were only selling floor models. I've learned my lesson with floor models and so we went into the main store. Most of the lamps there were $1000 and up! No way were we paying that for a lamp. The reason we didn't go to Steinhaffels was because their lamps were $200 and up and we thought that was expensive. At the lamp store I remembered that Linens N Things had a lamp section and they were having a going out of business sale, so we headed there. Linens N Things was super crowded because of their going out of business sale. We found the lamp section and while it was rather picked over, we did find a good lamp for our living room. It takes two 150 watt bulbs, which puts out 300 watts of energy. I wanted a 300 watt one for the living room so that it's not dim in there and that worked out perfectly. It was also on sale for only $20. Not bad! We then headed to Menard's (a hardware store). While we had to deal with an idiot girl who worked there, we managed to find what we were looking for. We got a 150 watt lamp for Gabriel's room and got the bulbs we needed for our two new lamps as well (we're using the energy saver bulbs). We then made a quick stop at home for a bathroom run, Gabriel's diaper change, and to drop off the lamps and bulbs. During the diaper change Gabriel managed to pee all over his piggy lovey. So, that went into the washing machine and we had a pissy toddler for most of the rest of the night. We called in an order to Buca Di Beppo and headed into Milwaukee to pick it up. We came back home, ate dinner, watched The Amazing Race, and bathed Gabriel. Eventually, his piggy was out of the washer and dryer and he was happy once more. Today Gabriel and I are hanging out as usual. I don't feel like posting about how I'm feeling and the side effects from the shot or about my job hunt because they both suck. I'm working on getting all of Gabriel's laundry done today. This week is only a two day week and I'm super happy about that. Rob has off of work on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Donna is coming to visit for Thanksgiving. So, I have alot to look forward to at the end of the week. ----------
45% Eccentricity, 55% Confidence, 45% Kindness Congratulations, you're Dr. Lisa Cuddy! You've got a healthy balance of confidence, kindness, and general oddity (because asking a person who works for you to stick a needle in your butt is odd, no matter how hot he may be). You're probably an excellent leader with a good sense of humor. You also probably have a vulnerable side that not many people know about.
