Weekend And Other Stuff

This weekend was pretty much like any normal weekend. On Saturday we did our errands. This weekened that was going to Fresh Market and the grocery store. We got a pizza from Buca di Beppo for dinner and watched The Dark Knight on DVD. It was very good - not great, though Batman's weird gravelly voice kept annoying me. I didn't like Maggie G in it at all... the area around her mouth looks like she's 80 years old and her eyes look like one of those sad cartoon turtles. While I did think that Heath L did a very good job as the Joker, I thought that the actor that played Harvey Dent was MUCH better. Anyway, I liked the film, but it had a lot of flaws. While I would say it was very good, I would also say I didn't think it lived up to all of the hype that it's gotten.

Sunday we headed over to see my Nana and drop off her Xmas presents. We weren't able to give them to her on Xmas because they were weather delayed. So, she got them yesterday. I hope she liked them. We spent about an hour there and then had to leave because Gabriel kept trying to break everything he could get his hands on. He was also getting ornary because it was past his nap time. Sunday night we got some Chinese food for dinner and did some gaming.

I still have this cold and the most annoying thing right now is the dizziness and the stuffed and near-constantly running nose. It sucks, but there's not much I can do about it. I just need to wait it out and eventually it will go away.

As far as my MCLE's this month go, things are looking grim. Rob should be able to come home for a long lunch on the day of the telephone seminar (it's an hour long) and watch Gabriel, so that's a good thing. However, my half-day long ethics seminar and my day long condo law seminar will probably have to be done while I'm watching Gabriel. This is going to be extremely tough, if they check to see if I'm there and I'm doing a diaper change then the entire seminar doesn't count. Still, it's not like I have a choice. I need to do these and if I have to do them with Gabriel here, so be it. I'm willing to have some tough days and go a little nuts if it means keeping my license to practice law.

To those who asked - our daycare is currently full and not accepting drop offs. Rob's time off of work resets to 0 at the beginning of the year, so he can't take a day off. My Mom is busy trying to sell her house and has to deal with some of the problems her cat is having. Those I know out here who could babysit either have work or are telling me they're not the "babysitting type".

And, of course, there isn't a single seminar on the weekend. They're all during work hours because you're supposed to do them a work and usually the firm you work for pays for it. I don't think they expect a stay at home Mom to have to juggle it with watching a toddler. Ah well, I'll make it work.

You Scored as Mage

You are a mage. The Mages of Warcraft once centered their powers within the mageocracy of Dalaran. After that kingdom's destruction by the Burning Legion, however, the arcane arts spread to the far corners of the world. The Mage is a very important and helpful party member. One of the Mage's most powerful abilities is Polymorph, which allows it to control the number of monsters currently attacking the party. The mage is also able to use a teleportation spell, allowing it to travel through the land more quickly. Mages can even summon in food and drink to help everyone recover faster from battle.
