2009-03-03 8:30 AM Eye Problem Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Meh Read/Post Comments (2) Yesterday during the day was a fairly normal day. I played with and watched Gabriel, did some laundry, looked at the job boards, etc. Last night things ended up going rather badly. Rob brought Olive Garden home for dinner, we gamed, and then we watched Heroes. During Heroes (around 8:40pm) I began having problems with my left eye. At first, I thought I had something in my eye. When I went to the bathroom to look, I found out that there was nothing in my eye - it was swelling shut. I took an allergy pill and headed back out to let Rob know what was going on. Just by looking at me he could tell which eye had the problem, it was rather obvious. I had a headache for most of the day, but that was behind my right eye and this was the left one that was acting up. I'm pretty sure it was an allergic reaction, but I can't for the life of me think what could have caused it. For dinner I had a Starbucks bottled Frappucino, salad (lettuce, Olive Garden house dressing, croutons, olives), tuscan garlic chicken (chicken, noodles, sauce, lots of garlic, spinach, red peppers), and a breadstick. After dinner I had half a bottle of peach Izze. I've had all of these things before and never have had a reaction from any of it. I wondered if it could be the peppers (my Mom is allergic to bell peppers) but I had green peppers on a pizza a few nights before with no problems at all. Too weird. Eventually the swelling went down, but a new problem appeared. There was now a weird thick fluid building up in my eye. Looking out my left eye, everything was blurry and seemed to have a film over it. My eye was filled with a thick petroleum jelly-like substance that wouldn't come out, even if I touched it. It was nasty. At this point, I went to bed, hoping things would be better in the morning. This morning, most of the swelling is gone. Most of the weird jelly-like fluid is gone as well (though there is some left as a film over my eye). While the film is there, it's not the puddle that was in there last night. My vision is still blurry because of the weird film and my eye aches. Ever looked into the sun and felt your eyes ache because of it? My left eye aches like that. On the bright side, it looks a lot better than it did last night, so I'm hoping that over time it gets better. Not like I have the time to see an eye doctor or anyone to watch Gabriel even if I had the time. *sigh* The area around the eye feels somewhat numb, but I think that's from how badly swollen it was last night. So yeah... that made last night suck. I was also dizzy, but that seems to be a normal reaction for my body when it has a problem. Today I'm watching Gabriel and getting more laundry done. It's another normal day and I'm just hoping I can get through my day without any other eye problems. Especially since I need to take my car out tonight to mail off a bill. ----------
