2009-03-10 10:44 AM Trip To My Mom's Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Sick Read/Post Comments (0) Please excuse me if I ramble on, make little to no sense, or have spelling errors. I'm having a very hard time concentrating and keeping my eyes open at the moment. Friday: Friday, Rob took off of work and in the morning he took Gabriel over to the pediatrician's office. His feet had been getting worse and we didn't trust the diagnosis from the urgent care clinic since the doctor there had given us a prescription for over the counter meds. Very odd. Plus, the cracks on his feet were getting worse. Since I'm sick, I thought it would be a bad idea to head to the doctor's office around kids, so I stayed at home and showered while Rob took Gabriel to the doctor's office. Going with our gut was good because the urgent care doctor did indeed misdiagnose Gabriel. It's not athlete's foot, it's excema. I should have known, considering I get it on my hands in between my fingers sometimes, but I've never had it on my feet so my brain just didn't make the connection. She told us to put vaseline on his feet three times a day and over time that should heal things up. So far, so good. When they got home we packed up and headed out to my Mom's place. We headed out of our place around 11:30am and with a stop for lunch on the way out there, we got to my Mom's place a little before 3pm. We made very good time. We unpacked, rested a bit, and then headed out to Durty Gurtz's burger joint for dinner. Gabriel is always really well behaved at that restaurant and Friday night was no exception. When we were done with dinner we headed back to my Mom's place for the night. Saturday: I got to sleep in until around 10am on Saturday. So nice. After getting up and ready, the four of us (my Mom, Rob, Gabriel, and I) headed out and into Dubuque. We made a Wal*Mart stop on the way there. We went to the mall in Dubuque and let Gabriel spend some time playing around on the indoor playground they have there for the little ones. I did some shopping at Baby Gap for Gabriel and after checking out, I was a wreck. I was dizzy and felt like I was about to pass out. So, I sat down for a bit while Gabriel snacked on some pretzel bites and then we got Gabriel some Yo Gabba Gabba underpants and headed out of the mall. We went to House of China for dinner and then headed back to my Mom's place for the night. While it was nice getting out of the house, I think I pushed myself way too hard because I was feeling wrecked at the end of the day. Sunday: Sunday was Rob's and my 6th wedding anniversary. We've been married for 6 years. Wow. We were going to head out during the day, but I felt like ass. Whatever bug I have is making me super dizzy, out of it, and exhausted. It takes all of my willpower just to stay awake. So, we stayed in during the day and only headed out to dinner. We went to a nice and romantic dinner at the Log Cabin in downtown Galena while my Mom babysat Gabriel for us. It's SO nice being able to do things on our own once in awhile. When we were done with dinner, we went back to my Mom's house, got some laundry done, and watched The Celebrity Apprentice and The Amazing Race. Monday Monday we got up early so we could get going. My Mom had a dentist appointment and we needed to get errands done. So, we headed out of my Mom's place and drove home. When we got back to our area, we made a stop at Fresh Market and then went home to unpack. Once we were done unpacking, we went to Pick N Save for our main grocery shopping. Monday night we stayed in, cooked bacon, bagels, and eggs for dinner, and watched House and Heroes Today: Today I feel like complete ass. The sore throat is gone and so is most of the nasal congestion. There's some crap in my lungs, but I'm coughing it up. What sucks the most, is the way I feel. I'm dizzy, unable to concentrate, and super tired. It's taking every ounce of willpower to keep my eyes open. It actually hurts to be awake. Also, I'm not happy with my new meds. At my last doctor's appointment I was taken off of the steroid inhalers and put on a non-steroidal asthma treatment. The good news from that is that because I'm off the steroids, I've been able to lose some weight. The bad news, is that I now wheeze when I sleep and sometimes when I'm exhaling when I'm awake. Which I have a feeling will mean I'm put back on the steroid inhaler at my next doctors appointment. I want to stay off of those damn steroids and lose more weight... but the wheezing is bad and is a sign that the pills aren't working as well as they should be. Shit. ----------
