2009-05-14 9:13 AM GAL Training Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Tired Read/Post Comments (0) Today I have two GAL (guardian ad litem) training seminars. The basic seminar is from 8:30am until 12:00pm. The intermediate seminar is from 1:00pm until 4:30pm. Tomorrow I have an all day advanced seminar. Today's morning seminar I'm doing while watching Gabriel. So, of course, he's being a loud spaz. *sigh* On the bright side, my Mom should be here around noon today and she'll watch him during my afternoon seminar and my all day seminar tomorrow. That is a very good thing. This means I can concentrate on the seminar and not have to try and chase Gabriel all around while trying to watch the seminar. I'm looking forward to seeing my Mom, even if it is while I'm doing my three seminars. Three seminars in two days, by Friday night my brain is going to be goo. Next week I'm going to look into what it takes for me to work as a GAL. From the research I've done, it looks like it might be a volunteer position... but the seminar guy mentioned you need to work for a family law firm in order to get appointed as a GAL. Ugh. I hope that's not the case. Getting a job (let alone in the exact field I want to go into, which is family law) is proving to be insanely impossible for me. On the bright side, at least I'll have the training for it. If I need more training, I'll do that as well. -----------
