2009-06-23 10:59 AM Sprecher Brewery & Miller Park Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Sick Read/Post Comments (0) Yesterday I was sick as hell (still sick today). My throat was killing me, I could barely talk, and I was dizzy and just plain out of it. Regardless, I sucked it up and headed out so I could spend some more time with the inlaws. There was no way I was missing their last day here. We headed out and went to the Sprecher Brewery. They weren't doing tours, but we did hit the gift shop. I got Rob's Mom a t-shirt and backpack, I got Rob's Dad a t-shirt and a "Cooking With Beer" book, I got Rob some root beer cookie mix, and I got Gabriel a stuffed "Rootie the Root Beer Griffon". I dig Sprecher because it's not just beer - it's also some really amazing sodas. From there we drove around a bit and showed them some of Whitefish Bay (the ritzy area) and downtown Milwaukee. We then headed over to Miller Park. There was no game going on today, so we were able to check out a gift shop (they got Gabriel a super cute Brewers hat) and have dinner at the Friday's that overlooks the field. What a great view! Dinner went very well and it was so neat eating right next to the field. We'll definitely have to go back there again. We then drove back to our neck of the woods, dropped the inlaws off at their hotel, and headed for a quick trip to Walgreens (I needed NyQuil) and to the grocery store (for more of that mint tea that Kenny suggested - it works wonders on my throat). We then headed back home for the night and did some gaming. A good time was had by all when the inlaws were in town. It was great being able to see them again and spending time with them. They're heading back to NY today on a 2pmish flight. I had a lot of fun when they were out here and Gabriel absolutely loves them. Today things are back to normal. Rob's at work, I'm with Gabriel, and I'm doing four loads of laundry. I much prefered last weekend to the normal daily grind. It was fun. ----------
